a1steve's rubbish removals <a1steve@...>
Having obtained UK naturalisation details for
my great uncle, his name is given as David
CHORGAN also known as David OGIN. His parents
were Motel and Esther CHORGAN. Motel has also
been known as Mordechai and Marks. The place
of birth is given as Polonia, Russia, 1895.
They are COHEN's. David is buried at East Ham
Cemetery and passed away in 1970. I believe that
the family arrived in the East End between 1899
Could anybody offer me a suggestion as to what
surname I should be searching for and where
Polonia might have covered at that point in time.
Esther's maiden name has appeared as HIATT,
HUNT and HARYUDA, so I am not sure if this
would give some clues. A place name sounding
like 'Bidgiver' has also been mentioned.
Please note that I have searched the discussion
group archives where Polonia was discussed in
Please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org if
any of these names are familiar or if you can
provide further insight.
