I have just received >from a professional German archivist, a manual on reading
the old script. (He tells me, incidentally, that Hitler banned this script in
the early 1940's because some fool had told him it was based on Hebrew
script!) I haven't been able to open it yet. When I do, I might be able to
make it available to others, unless it is copyrighted.

OK: the name LOEWY (for Levi) runs in my ancestral family in the 17th and
18th century, mostly in the village of Frensdorf but also in nearby Bamberg,
and its other surrounding villages.
Walter FALK of Nurnberg b. 1929, son of a dentist, was my closest friend in
school. Now lives in a Chicago suburb.
PLAUT was a kosher restaurateur whose premises adjoined our home on
Zufuhrstrasse 8, Nurnberg. My pgm Rosa lived with us at that address; She
was the daughter of Aron WOLF and Babette GOLDSCHMIDT of Frankfurt. Rosa
BERNET had a sister Clothilde who lived next door above the restaurant; she
was married to a Hugo GAERTNER (tailor). She moved to Antwerp ca 1937.
BERNET: >from Frensdorf, Bamberg, Nurnberg, Hirschaid, (Bavaria)
