a caveat here.. While it has not been my experience (yet) I've
been advised that Morton Allan has been known to have errors up
to a week in either direction. Bear this in mind when looking
for passenger manifests that don't turn up on the expected films.
Also, if you're looking for a manifest based on "date of
arrival" as indicated on naturalization records, remember
that this date of arrival is not necessarily the date the ship
arrived. It could reflect the fact that the passenger was
detained and actually "arrived" in New York several days *after*
the ship docked. When you do locate the manifest, check the
last pages of it for List of Detained Passengers....sometimes
very interesting information is contained on those pages.
