Question about 19th century Russian census #general

David Goldman <davic@...>

I was wondering whether anyone had an insight to the following problem. In
census data >from the last third of the 19th century (1875), there was an
entry for my great-great-grandfather and one of his sons. There is no
mention of his wife, whose name I have yet to confirm. On the other hand,
there is no evidence to suggest she was not alive at the time. Is there a
possibility of a census not including a woman's name? Her husband was 45
years old. >from my attempts at comparing Hebrew names among a variety of
relatives born after 1875,it would appear she was indeed still alive until
the beginning of the 20th century.
