We have a listing in 1937 for a woman whose residence in "Shekhunat Schein." A quick glance at city maps shows no such neighborhood in any large city today and phone calls to the city archives in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel-Aviv just get blank stares. There is no Schein in the Encyclopedia Judaica to give a clue.
So does anyone know in which city there was (or is) a neighborhood called Shekhunat Schein?
