I have also heard that name changing was a way of moving around Russia for
Jewish people.
I have been told that Jews were not allowed to move >from their villages,
apparently if you bribed the right people you were able to take up names for
those that had died and move to their locations. As long as the names were
right, no one cared. Would anyone like to give me any information on this - or
correct me if i am wrong?
