Establishing date of death and place of burial #general

Stan Goodman <l_luciano@...>

I have, I think, exhausted all the possibilities available to me for
establishing the date (or even just the year) of the death of Herman
GOODMAN, who was listed in the 1920 US Census at 10 Littleton Avenue in
Newark NJ, having immigrated to the US in 1900 and been naturalized in
1906.

I need the date of death in order to apply for a death certificate >from the
NJ autorities, and I need this in order to find his place of burial. All
this is necessary in order to locate his headstone, which I wish to have
photographed.

There is an index of local names that appeared in the now defunct Newark
Evening News, in which I had hoped to find an obituary, but I have found
that this is an unpublished, handwritten document available for viewing
only at the Newark Public Library, which I am unable to visit; the library
gets $75/hour for doing research of this sort, which is stiff for me,
certainly as an open-ended proposition.

If anyone can suggest a feasible path for me to follow >from this distance,
or is in a position to supply the needed date >from any source of which I
have not thought, I would be very grateful.
