Leila Kilby wrote that she was researching the name JOTNER, and that
her great-grandfather, Joseph Jotner, was on the UK 1901 census.

A search on FreeBMD http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl , which is
an in-progress transcription of the St. Catherine's House indexes of
English and Welsh birth, marriages and deaths onto an online
database, reveals the following JOTNER births. Note the dates
refer to all the months of the
quarter ending in the month mentioned.

Dec 1895 JOTNER Asher District of Greenwich Vol 1d Page 990
Mar 1897 JOTNER Etta Bena District of Whitechapel Vol 1c Page 305
June 1899 JOTNER Rachel District of Whitechapel Vol 1c Page 319

The above information should be sufficient for you to order birth
certificates of any of the above >from the General Register Office
(GRO) of England. Hopefully these certificates would provide you
with some information as to the father, his occupation and his origins.
