Auschwitz Transport List #yizkorbooks

Sherri Goldberg <SGoldberg@...>

Hello everyone. I have come across a list of people transported from
Pruzany (as well as other small villages and towns) to Auschwitz. I have
searched the list for members of my family but found none. I would like to
offer to search the list for anyone interested. This list contains 300+
names and birthdates of people mainly >from Pruzany but also contains members
of other villages and towns too. Please send me the name (partial or full)
and birthdate (if possible if not that's ok too) and I will look for the
information for you. Please keep in mind this list contains mainly names of
people born >from 1900 to 1930 (approx.). I hope this is useful to anyone
else out there!

Please contact me PRIVATELY. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Sherri Goldberg

sorry for the UNSUBSCRIBE message folks.... #general

Carol W. Skydell <skydell@...>

I am testing our new moderation system and the darn thing was
live! I apologize for sending a message I thought I was moving
to another list.... (or maybe it's a glitch in the system that
needs further programmer attention...who knows?) Anyway, it
could have been worse...what can I say except "Compost Happens"

Is/was there a Koven, Russia? #general

NormK12065

JGenrs

On the census sheet for one of my relatives it states that he came >from
Koven, Russia. I can't find anything close in WWOW or the Shtetl finder.
Is it possible they meant Kovno?

Thanks.

Does anyone know what it might be? David Fielker London, UK >>

Assuming that Jaroslaw is correct, Wola Rozwieniecka (49.58/22.34) seems
the most likely shtetl. It is only 6.2 miles WSW of Jaroslaw, Poland and
was then part of Galicia (Austro - Hungarian Empire). Many people when
asked where they came from, referred to the nearest "large town", in this
case Jaroslaw.

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately there are some handwritten words
in a foreign language that does not look like Hebrew--tis real funny
lettering almost like sticks in structure. Is this the style of
Hungarians? The letters are not Roman lettering.

I just decided to attend the conference and am looking for a female

Seaching: ZEITLIN (from Chicago area) #general

Goniper <goniper@...>

I am trying to find out if there is a family tree in existence for the
ZEITLIN family of Chicago. They immigrated to the USA >from Russia.

The oldest generation was Mr. Zeitlin and his wife Henye (maiden name of
LEVITT). They had twelve children including:
Miriam, Lillian, Nathan, Naomi, Anna and the other names are unknown.
Nathan was born in 1899 and died in 1972.

Anyone with information, please contact me.

Hebrew names #general

Jerome Silverbush <jsilverbus@...>

I have found a lot of Silverbush's whose name here is Max. As a matter
of fact it is the most common first name I have found. What would Max
have been called in Galicia?

Another name I am interested in is Berisch. What would Berisch be called
in America?

What about Yitzhak?

Is Chaim the same as Charles?

Is there a book or source on line that would cover this subject?

Sorry if this question has been discussed before, thanks for the help.

Re: At a loss #general

Jonathan Evans <evansjo@...>

Dear JewishGenners:
I am hoping someone is willing to help. On the JRI-PL website, I found
the name of my g-grandfather & g-grandmother & the date in which they
married.
(Wulf Malcmacher & Rwkya Fridman -- 1877.)
I have searched and searched the microfilm numbers associated with this
record.
(RADOMACK), but no luck. Primarily, the only film number to coordinate
with the same year was #120353. I am asking anyone searching the
RADOMACK films if they could keep a look out for these names -- again,
bless whomever indexed them... but I cannot find them anywhere.

I am truly in despair. If there is some way I can help you in return,
please let me know.
I was pleased to have had the opportunity to help Judith Bennet find her
second cousins in Cleveland.

Sincerely and with the utmost thanks to all who can help me,
Marilyn Malcmacher Evans
