Your Name <meryl-chicago@...>

In looking up the 1910 Census of Merrill, WI, I think I've proven a family
story about my pgf, Abraham ABRAMOWITZ HARRIS. When he arrived in the U.S.
in 1905, he went to live in Merrill, WI with a relative, Hans Harris. When
my grandfather applied for citizenship he took the last name of this
relative and that is how we became Harris. Both Abe and Hans are listed in
the 1910 Census. Hans immigrated to the U.S. in 1885 and operated a General
Store in Merrill, WI. His wife's name was Hanna and he had 5 children,
Rachel, Hanna, Minnie, Goldie and David.

If anyone has any information on this family, please contact me.

JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen New York City Records Search Requested #general

MILTGOLD@...

May I ask any New York City-based researchers working with death certificates
or naturalization records for help?

Could someone make copies for me of the following two records on Benjamin (or
Baruch) BALDINGER:

1. His death certificate, died January 31, 1922, in the Bronx, certificate #
578

2. His naturalization papers in the name of Baruch BALDINGER, U. S. District
Court, Brooklyn, filed 8/4/1906, as volume 94, record #232, while living at
99 Avenue D. [Probably at the New York branch of National Archives and that
courthouse]

He was born 11/15/1859 and arrived in this country on 4/1/1884, according to
information I have.

I will refund all mailing and photocopying costs of any researcher that
volunteers. Thanks very much. Getting this information (which is not in
Mormon records and to ask for >from NYC Health Dept records would take weeks)
will help fill in a very important gap in my grandmother's family and how
many of the family's 11 brothers and sisters reached this country. Please
contact me directly for my mailing address.

Dear Fellow Researchers,

from the Red Cross microfilm at Yad Vashem, I have a copy of an entry for
this survivor:

Izak ROTBEIN, b. 1921
Parents: Josef and Estera
Last known location: January 1947, Lognica S/L

I have spoken to his widow in Israel, who told me that his family was in
the lumber business in a town outside of Warsaw before WWII, but she
didn't know the name of the town.

I am wondering if anyone knows where "Lognica S/L" is, and if there is
any relationship to the town near Warsaw.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
