Hello All

I am seeking someones aid in looking up and copying for me a marriage

who is already going there to do the same type of research, and
wouldn't mind doing this look-up for me.

The persons i am seeking the marriage license for are Rwya/Reva Faikes
& Louis Rosenberg. They were both previously married. I am seeking more
clues or background information on my ancestor Reva Faikes's first
husband Berel.

I am hoping that the marriage license will mention a place of origin
and death for him. So, please contact me if you can help. I will
reimburse you for the copying fees.

burial by small town Smolyarka has been "recently" discovered #belarus

Franklin J. Swartz <fjs@...>

Dear All,

Actually this site has been known for some time. It was discovered and
thoroughly documented by Ms Elizaveta Mshar, a history teacher at the
Boronnagorskaya Seconday School over a year ago. Ms Mshar, like so
many people who have preserved Jewish heritage in Belarus is not
Jewish. Representatives of the U.S. and other embassies visited the
site about three months ago. The local authority has already pledged
approximately $12,000 to build a memorial on the site. Unfortunately
there are already indications that some organisations are attempting
to exploit this tragic site and, while this is indeed a worthwhile
project, everyone should be cautious about appeals by third parties
for funds to build a memorial. If anyone is interested about the
background to this site I will send Ms Mshar's contact details.

The East European Jewish Heritage Project is not, at present, involved
in this restoration and this message should not be construed as a
request for funding.
Best regards,

Franklin J. Swartz

Dear All,
By small town Smolayrka of Brest district was
discovered mass grave of Jews,
unknown earlier. Presumably, remains of 2500 prisoners
of Bereza-Kartyzkiy ghetto are buried in there.
Does anybody have any information regarding this just
discovered burial?

Dear Genners,
I thought I had this "down", but if I know a Manhattan address, the
assembly district, and the enumeration district (>from both 1920 and 1930

Thanks,

PACHTER #general

tina levine

I am searching for relatives with the surname PACHTER.

My great-grandfather, David Pachter, was born in
1863/4 in Siemiatycze, Bielsk District, Grodno
Gobernia. His father's name was Yisroel.

David Pachter married Rifka Botschan b. 1870 and they
had 3 children who survived to adulthood: Sureh Golde
(Sarah) b. 1893, Leibe (Louis) b. 1894 and Avraham
Nachum (Albert Nathaniel) b. 1908.

David left Siemiatycze and immigrated to the US in
August, 1907 sailing >from Liverpool to Philadelphia.
He settled on the lower east side in NYC and later
relocated to upstate New York.

I am looking for descendants of siblings or cousins of
my great-grandfather.

In particular, in the Siemiatycze Yizkor book I’ve
read about Peretz Pachter who had 4 children
(Avraham, Moshe, Shalom and Leah). I am wondering if
Peretz Pachter was a brother or first cousin of my
great-grandfather.

Please write back if you believe we are or are not
related. Please respond privately. Thank you.
