Searching RENE ZILAHI , Budapest 1950 #hungary

Avraham Steiner <avi6@...>

Dear H-sig members,

An old postcard , sent in 1950, indicate that my Grandfather 's cousin RENE
ZILAHI lived in Andraschi Street , Budapest.

RENE is the daughter of HEINRICH and MARIA ZIPSER.

Could you advise me how to trace her descendants ?

Thanks in advance

Avraham Steiner

as well as the main Opera house, line this street.

Web listing of Jewish Community Centers in Hungary #hungary

Ed Zwieback <ezwiebac@...>

In early 1998, I found a very interesting web site listing all the Jewish
Communities in Hungary, with current contacts including names , addresses,
and telephones. This was a Hungarian web site.
I cannot find the site now. The partial printout that I have shows
http://195.56.24.1/Zsido/guide_dan.htm . I can't open that web page nor
the "home" page.

Maybe I missed it in the H-SIG web site links or maybe it's no longer
available?
I would like to know how to reach that listing.
Regards,

Lomza, Ruscian, and Rozan #poland

Mark_J._Schwartz@...

I am new to the mailing list and have a quick question. My
great-grandmother's brother lists Lomza as his birthplace on his
naturalization papers, and his last residence prior to emigration as
"Ruscian, Russia". On my great-grandmother's death certificate it
lists "Rozan, Russia" as her birthplace. Is it possible that Ruscian
and Rozan are the same places? If they are the same, where is in
this in relation to Lomza. Thanks

Mark Schwartz

Re: Help on Polish Name #poland

garymaher@...

In my family, men with the English name Charles have the Hebrew name
Yehezkel (hard "h"), which, in Polish, is Chackiel (pronounced
"Hots-keel", again with a hard "h").

Chacek for short! ;-)

Hope this is helpful!

Gary

Sir or Madame;
On 22 Oct 2000, a message sent >from Robyn Perlin to your Group stating
that the Trakai District Research Group had made a contribution of 544 newly
acquired records.
This list includes the Town of Punia. Can I obtain either the entire
list or just that for Punia.
Is this clear enough?

Dear Group

Where do I appeal for help?
