Hello everyone,

It's 2:34 a.m. and Ellis Island history is "too busy"
to let me in so while stalling I have a question you
may be able to help me with.

A document, evidentally filled out by someone other
than the signer, states that he was born in
Luscabbage, Minsk, Russia.

What could this mean?

Thanks, Cherie

Dear Everyone,

I am trying to locate my Grandfather Isador (Wilamowski) Williams' nephew
Munyel Rubinstein any spelling. The last we knew of him he was in Mexico
City in the early 1950s. He came >from Zambrow, Lomza, Poland. His parents
were Morris & Miriam (nee Wilamowski), he would be in his mid 80s now. his
grandparents also >from Zambrow were Abram Wilamowski and Perla (nee
Goldberg). Most of the family perished in the Holocaust, but he was
smuggled out of Poland and survived.

If anyone has knowledge of him or any descendant please contact me privately

The other person or his descendants I am trying to find is Wolf Grynbaum

After the war he lived in Ramle, Israel, then I think he lived for some time

Grodno Yiskor Book names #general

Miriam Margolyes <75342.3217@...>

May I remind those with family >from Grodno that the
translation of the names in the Index to Photographs
in the Yiskor Book can be found on website page:

http://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/grodno/gro002.html

Generous contributors have made this wonderful Index
possible. I am deeply grateful, also for the superb work
of Jerrold Landau, our translator & to Joyce Field,
an amazing organiser & fount of wisdom.

This Summer I hope to achieve the major task of putting
on the website, the photos to which the Index refers. This
will be made possible through the skills of Linda Epstein,
who has volunteered to do the actual scanning. Her
particular skills make her the ideal candidate for this
project-but I would like to record my gratitude to the
others who also offered their time & energies to
fulful this task. I have written to them separately.

This has not been a straighforward task. Mr Struvolski
who is the Head of the Grodno Landmansschaft in
Israel has not been prepared to grant us translation
permission for the whole Yiskor Book-and so once
the photographs are in place (there are about 140 of
them) I will sadly have to cease as Co-Ordinator of the
Grodno Yiskor Book.

My only wish has been to honour those >from the
Grodno region who died in the Holocaust-their memory will be
forever cherished.
