Request for Boston city directory lookups #general

Leslie Popelka

I would appreciate greatly a lookup in Boston city directories for my
grandfather, Louis/Lewis Rodman/Rudman >from the period 1890-1912.
Most valuable to me are 1896, 1897, 1911 and 1912 but, of course, I'd
love to have as many as possible.

Please respond privately.

With many thanks in advance and an offer to do reciprocal searches.

BOJARSKY and Meier PAWE, from Scucyn, Belarus #general

SBSeales

Hello all,
Does anyone recognize the name PAWE, or know of another spelling for
it? It is written very clearly on a passenger manifest in the Ellis Is
Database. This person was traveling with Elke (Alice) BOJARSKY, my
grandmother's twin sister, and was supposedly a cousin. Alice was >from
Mosty,in Grodno.
Although they are not listed on consecutive lines, they were both going
to Elke's brother Chaim BOIARSKY, at 78 Sumner Ave in East Boston in 1903.

Thanks in advance,
Sue Seales, North Carolina

Organization Seeks Writers to Help Tell Story of Unique Holocaust #general

Iris Posner

My name is Iris Posner and I am President of One Thousand Children,
Inc.( OTC). We are a non-profit organization whose mission it is to
document the experiences of virtually the only unaccompanied children
rescued by the US >from the Holocaust. The children numbered about 1000
and were placed with foster families across America. Most lost their
parents and families and became citizens of the US. Some became well
known. Most have had successful professional and personal lives despite
their losses and difficult beginnings. This is a virtually unknown story
both to most Americans and Holocaust scholars as well. OTC believes that
the best way to tell this story is in theatrical stage and film
performance. We are looking for a co-writers to develop scripts telling
the story of this 11 year rescue plan that spanned 3 continents and 2
oceans. As a small nonprofit, we can offer to share credit for and income
from the production of such scripts. We are writing in the hopes you can
let your members know about our search for a co-writer.
More information about OTC is available at our website at
www.onethousandchildren.org.

I remember accompanying my grandfather (who could not read English) to the
Soc.Sec. office to fill out an application, and how amazed he was when the
benefits actually came to him. He died in 1952, and I find no evidence of
him on the SSDI. Any suggestions?
Also, I cannot find my father on the EIDB although I know the year of his
arrival, 1924, and his ship, the Majestic. He came >from what was then
Palestine. Where should I go for help?
