I know for certain that the ARNHOLZ family was a
Jewish family >from Germany, resident in Rouxville in
the period that includes 1885 to 1888.
Were there any other Jewish families living or working
there in that period, especially families with
'eligible' batchelors, who might have been looking for
a German (or German speaking)Jewish wife?

Please reply to Adam Yamey, London, UK<adamandlopa@...>

Hi My name is Kay Evison, and I am looking for information on my
Grandfather, whom I am told was Jewish, he parted company with my
Grandmother when my father was a young baby, who has since passed.

I am keen to find out more about him and my ancestors. His name was Bill
WATSON and he was born in Islington during 1898.

I hope that you are able to direct me to a website where I can find this
information.

Very Kind regards

Kay Evison

BRICKNER-SOLIS-RITTERBAND-PEIXOTTO Connection: #usa

JUDITH BERLOWITZ <jberlowitz@...>

On American Bio. Library, I just "discovered" that the
son of Miriam Peixotto (daughter of Dr. Daniel Levy
Maduro Peixotto & Rachel Mendes Seixas), Goodman
Davis, b. 1876, married a Benvenida ("Benveneda")
BRICKNER. My other BRICKNER, David (b. Bavaria 1840)
shows up on the 1880 census as being married to Sarah
(Sally) Maness RITTERBAND and having apparently
adopted the surname RITTERBAND. David and Sally were
living in the household of her parents Leon Maness R.
and Benvenida SOLIS (daughter of Jacob da Silva S. and
Charity Hays.)
My question: Could Benvenida BRICKNER be related to
David B? Does anyone have data on these people?
Would welcome any information.

Keidan Jews #Keidan #Lithuania Re: Johannesburg #lithuania

Monty <montagues@...>

Dear Sara
My ggf lived in Keidan >from where my parents emigrated to Wales
in 1925. In Riva's story on the Keidan website my mother tells
about her gf sending 2 sons to USA. I traced them to Pittsburgh
where 2 brothers of my ggf had settled and discovered a large
family. They told me of another brother, Samuel Wolkin, and
there was a letter >from a daughter with whom he lived in Joburg
dated 1948. I have not been able to trace any of that family
hence my query.
Two of my mother's brothers survived because their father sent
them away and they joined the Lithuanian Jewish unit of the red
army. One of them is still living in Rehovot and they are
mentioned in the Yizcor book which I have.
Thanks for your response.
Regards
Monty

Thanks to all that replied. I will have a big question mark next to that

IAJGS International Conference July 4-9--- LARG and #general

Roni S. Liebowitz

Dear Researchers:

The 24th IAJGS conference in Jerusalem is fast approaching. For those of
you researching Lodz and the surrounding area, we are planning to have a
Lodz Area Research Group (LARG) meeting. The conference organizers need to
know as soon as possible how many of us will attend this meeting in order to
reserve an appropriate size room.

If you are also interested in a Birds of a Feather meeting for Belchatow
researchers, please let me know about that too.

Thanks.

Article: Using a Research Outline to Focus Your Genealogical Research
As a beginner or experienced genealogist, we are often educated about
sources of information to search such as census records or vital records.
All too often though, we access the records we know about and then run into
the proverbial 'wall'. Many researchers do not know how to or take the time
to methodically make a plan to determine what records are available or what
to research. Using a Research Outline to Focus Your Genealogical Research
will teach you how to use a research outline to focus your genealogical
research, solve your problems methodically and break through those 'walls'.
