My 4G grandfather Yechiel RABINOWITZ came >from Lychovichi (Lechowitz). He
married Henya ____. They had at least 2 daughters Leah (1812-?) and Blume
(bef. 1831-1903) who married sequentially Gerson FAITELEVICH [who changed
his name to George FETLOW in the U.S.] of Nesvizh (1813-1872). Blume went
to Palestine and died in Jerusalem in 1903.

I don't know if any of this ties in with your data.

Receiving empty or nearly empty digests every day #belarus

Iris <ibsitkin@...>

Is anyone else on the list having this problem? I receive the digest daily
but there is nothing within it or it comes only with the following lines;

Thinking of visiting your ancestral shtetls?
Let JewishGen ShtetlSchleppers

As you can see, the sentence is just a fragment.

Red Onion? Pretty Onion? Not an onion at all? #belarus

Arielle K. Masters <arielle@...>

I'm not a Russian speaker either, but "luk" is onion and "krasno" is
red, not pretty. Now, anyway. Don't know when it changed. Right now,
"krasivui" is pretty.

Arielle in NoVA, USA

Am seeking the whereabouts of the hamlet of Krasnoluksk (with its variant
spellings), said to be in the Borisovsk district of Minsk Province.>
Could this be 2 words, Krasno Lutsk? I am not a Russian-speaker,
but I believe that Krasno means pretty.

I accidently deleted Jerry Seligson's msg about cataloging the Wisoke-Litovsk
Bruderlieder. But I wanted to let you know, if you are interested in this town, that I
sent Jerry a list of names I took >from the Washington Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY of people
buried in their plot. It's not a complete list, but not bad either.

It has been posted at JewishGen in Jerry's page.
