Re: Jewish vital records of Wloszczowa - Poland. #general

Stanley Diamond

Jewish Records Indexing - Poland will shortly be indexing the Jewish
vital records of Wloszczowa not microfilmed by the LDS (Mormons).
The registers with these records are stored in the Jedrzejow branch
of the Polish State Archives.

Indices will include both the "post-LDS" years of 1885-1903 as
well as several years 'missed' during the original microfilming.

As there is currently no Archive Coordinator for the Jedrzejow project
or a Town Leader for Wloszczowa, researchers with a strong interest
in these indices are invited to contact me at SMSDiamond@aol.com.

Jewish Records Indexing-Poland (http://www.jri-poland.org)
contains indices to Jewish birth, marriage and death records
>from more than 400 Polish towns, as well as indices >from other
sources, such as census records, legal notices, passports and
newspaper announcements.

Jewish Records Indexing - Poland, Inc. is an independent
non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Article on County Histories #usa

Rachel Unkefer <runkefer@...>

I just received my "Ancestry Weekly Digest" email today and it
contained an article about using published county histories in your
American research. Whenever beginners contact me for advice, I always
recommend looking for a county history when the research subject
lived outside a major metropolitan area during the last half of the
19th century. I have found helpful biographical sketches in histories
of Shelby County, Tennessee (Memphis), as well as counties in
Kentucky, Missouri, and Kansas. Unless your ancestor settled in New
York city, I strongly urge you to seek out the county histories of
places where they lived. Even if you don't think they were important
people, they might show up in a county history. Here is the URL of
the article:
