Jews in LOHRA #germany

C. Eberstadt <cpa-eberstadt@...>

Dear fellow researchers
A well known auction site (Germany) offers a book about the Jews of
LOHRA, containing chapters:
Die Juden von Lohra in der doerflichen Gemeinschaft (Jews of Lohre in a
Village Community)
Zur Geschichte der jüdischen Gemeinde in Lohra (About the History of the
Jewish Community of Lohra).
Maybe, someone could be interested.

Since it is quite a rare surname I would suggest
to enter www.veromi.info and click this surname.
Since the deceased parents died in NY and CT (according
to SSDI) I looked whether there are any candidates in
NY and CT. There are!!! Good luck

Dear Siggers;

I am now sending you a revised posting and a direct link to the view mate:

http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=9514

I do hope you can help me identify this man.

My mother Cilli MAYER (maiden name GLASER) was born in Vienna
in 1914 and died on August 1983. She left many letters and
photos. One of them is VM9514.

from his age and the style of his suit he looks like a contemporary of my
mother. Other members of her family were her brothers Harman GLASER &
David GLASER. They both passed away), Her father Chaim GLASER ,who
disappeared in Przemysl In1939 , and Dvora GLASER (his daughter >from
his second wife). But this is not one of them.

It could be a cousin or a friend >from her student days - perhaps someone
killed in the holocaust? My mother married my father Max MAYER, who was born
in Vienna in 1902 and passed away in Haifa in 1980 or one of their joint
family friends.

Anyway, I am now left with a mystery unless someone can recognize him!

Many thanks

I am pleased that contact has been made with Thomas Schaerf and the Baden
Community. I met him a number of years ago when I was researching my family
ancestors in Vienna and found him extremely helpful.

I am very interested in Karl KOHN as my late Uncle Siegfried KOHN also left
Vienna and travelled via Shanghai to Melbourne Australia. He too left all
his papers which are vast and include major extracts >from his diaries to the
Archives at the Jewish Museum in Melbourne. A great deal of his artefacts
were used in the exhibition on Jewish Life in Shanghai during the 1940s.

I would like to share my collection of information and exchanged details re
my family Kohn who lived in Moedling and stemmed originally from
Deutschkreuz and Mattersburg.

I have about 4 or 5 Cyrillic as well as Polish documents >from Lomza Gubernia,

relative who lives in Cuba and she is interested in getting copies of these
documents. Is anyone able to translate them into Spanish? I can either send the
actual documents or the English translations....whichever is easiest.
Thank you!

Helen Levy <carlhelen@...>

Dear Gersigers,
I am looking for descendents of ERNESTINE KAHN b. 1884 in Freudenthal

Fritz b. 1841, Joseph b. 1842, Augustine b.1844, and Julius b. 1848.
Ernestine may have been a twin. Their parents were Jette (Ittel) LEVI
and Meier KAHN.

Ernestine and Mr. ELLMAN had 9 children: Max m. Caro WELFELDER,
Truda m. Mr. ADLER. Gretchen m. Mr. HOFFMAN, Martin m Martha?, Nona
m. Max SPINAT, Herta m. Mr. MARSE, Franz, Anna, and Heinrich.

Any suggestions of how I can track them? Would there be records in
Fruedenthal; marriage records, cemetary records, that I could access?
