The big paid web-site has 48 ships arriving Baltimore in Feb, 1948. The SS Sixaola
arrived Feb 3 >from Honduras. The Mormacyork arrived >from Rio de Janeiro. The date
is not certain, but the immigration inspector signed off on Feb 4. None of the
other ships appear to meet your criteria.

RADER immigration - about 1882? #general

Barbara Zimmer <bravo.zulu@...>

My grandfather Isaac Benjamin RADER arrived in the US about 1882.
Various records state that the family was born in Hungary or in
Austria.
Isaac's father, Abraham RADER born about 1840 was supposedly born in
"Tarr" Austria.
His wife Hannah YAKIROWITZ (various spellings) was born Jan 1849
(according to the 1900 census)
Their children were: Ida b 1874, Annie b May 1877, Sarah b June 1880
and Isaac Benjamin b January 1881 in Debrecen (I realize these dates
do not work, but that is what was reported in the 1900 census)

I can find no immigration record for this family. At the time of
Abraham's death in 1898, he supposedly had been living in New York
City for 18 years (according to his death certificate)

In the 1900 census Hannah and her three youngest children say that
they arrived in the US in 1882. Their sister Ida, already married,
says that she arrived in either 1884; in 1910 Ida says her arrival
was in 1886.

If you can provide a record of their immigration, please respond privately.

Brzesko- A New Digitalized Book #galicia

Abuwasta Abuwasta

Dear Genners and Siggers,

While googling my maternal surname KONIGSBUCH (this is how it
spells without the umlaut) and Brzesko, I discovered a 5 volume
book called "Kronika Miasta Brzeska 1385-1944" written by Jan
Burlikowski (1912-1997). Further search disclosed under
"konigsbuch brzesko fragmenty" a chapter about the Jewish victims
in WW2. (It is a 19 page document). Further digging disclosed that
the book is digitalized in both printed book format (item 144) and
typed manuscript format (item 145).

http://www.mbc.malopolska.pl/dlibra/editionindex?startint=142&dirids=1

There are big differences between the book format where the Jewish
names start on image 121 and the typewritten version and the google
19 page version. In any case the lists disclose quite a lot and I
even discovered a member of my tribe I was not aware of.

RADER- SCHLANK marriage: New York #general

Barbara Zimmer <bravo.zulu@...>

My grandfather, Isaac Benjamin RADER, married Anna SCHLANK. He is
reported in the 1910 census as single, living with his mother, but
the translation of his marriage certificate says: "On Sunday, 8
Heshvan 5670 (October 23, 1909) a marriage took place in New York
between the groom Yitzchak Dov [Isaac] son of Avraham [Rader] and his
bride Chana (Anna) daughter of Avraham [Schlank.] " I cannot find a
1910 census record for Abraham Schlank whose address was on Broad
Street Newark to ascertain if his daughter Anna is enumerated in that
household.
Can anyone explain this discrepancy?

Please respond privately.

Dear Genners,

I've put on ViewMate several documents: VM9640 and VM9641 which are
to be translated >from Ukrainian I think rather than >from Polish.
(Not sure as I'm ignorant in these 2 languages.) VM 9639 has already
being translated by several friends that I thank by the way.

This is the verso of Josef Brandes' picture (VM 9638) which was
taken between 1920 and 1930 and sent to my father Leon Brandes
