Anyone know what L.P.C. means..

"Likely to become a public charge. " This not necessarily a medical
issue. It means that the person did not seem to have a means of making a
financial living able to sustain themselves. Could have been medical due to
something as simple a limp.

Bucharest to Bombay to New York? #general

I'm trying to find information on a family named JUROVSKY that arrived in
New York in 1941. They were Russians who had been living in Bucharest, and
according the the passenger list they embarked >from Bombay India. Their
passports were issued in Bombay just a few days before they set sail in
August.

Is it possible to get copies of passport applications >from Bombay? Why
would they travel >from Bucharest to Bombay to get to New York? Would there
be any other records >from Romania I could search? I have been unable to
find any traces of them after their arrival in the US.

Hi all,

I have uncovered a few different ITS records >from Bad Arolsen which states
that my father's first cousin died >from an illness in June 1945. Her last
known address was Belson, and she was buried at Wietze Cemetery. One of the
records even details the exact burial plot location. On one record the
cemetery is listed as Wietze-Kurhaus; on another Wietze Kr. Celle. Does
anyone know exactly where this cemetery might be. We are interested in
locating her gravesite.

be able to help.

Maggid of Zlotshev (Zolochiv) -- a once Galician town that's 24
miles north of Berezhany.
