My thanks to those kind respondents to the query I raised last week. With
the use of a more powerful magnifying glass (taking Robert Fraser's Sherlock
Holmes suggestion that bit further!), I have concluded that it is definitely
"Lib." and not "Lit." in the employer column and on that basis would like to
know how I might be able to obtain a list of libraries for
Whitechapel in 1891 and how I might go about researching workers employed by
them.

Film on vanishing Jewish heritage in Slovakia #general

I've seen a trailer of a lovely film by Yuri Dojc on Jewish heritage
in rural Slovakia. Dojc is a Jewish-Slovakian emigre, child of
Holocaust survivors. There are some interviews with Holocaust
survivors who stayed in Slovakia. The first exhibition of photos from
the project will be at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in NY on 24 March

Georgia (USA) Archives Cuts Public Hours Due to Budget Problems #general

As with so many states/countries the budget crises effect libraries and
archives. The Georgia (USA) Secretary of State under which department the
Georgia Archives is located has announced that effective October 1, 2010
the public hours for the Georgia Archives will change to Thursday-Saturday
8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Due to the reduction in public hours, when the Archives
are not open to the public, the Archives staff will be redeployed to
different functions. The core duties of the Archives had been genealogy
requests.

16673 is the marriage record for Abram KADECKI and Necca KARNISZYN.
Please provide allpertinent details including all names, dates and towns.
16672 is a marriage record for Beniamin KADECKI and Malka NUSYN.

16671 is a birth record >from Biezun for Ruchla Laia KADECKI. This
likely a fellow Kadecki researcher that I am working with, gggm. Please

Hungarian woman by the name of Ray and they had three daughters ­ Ruth
(1909), Helen (1913) and Sylvia (1920)
David Weiss met his niece in New York after she arrived by ship in 1921.
His address was listed as 446 East 123rd Street, Manhattan, NY.

I have run up against a wall trying to obtain their married names. All I
have is the 1920 census with their estimated birth years.

Any help locating any living relatives would be greatly appreciated? My
father in law lost both sets of grandparents in the Holocaust.
