I am asking for help with two records in Polish and one record that is
probably German, but possibly Yiddish.

If you can read German, but not Polish, please answer question 1 and
skip questions 2 and 3.

If you can read Polish, but not German, please skip question 1 and
read only questions 2 and 3.

Thank you.

1. ViewMate has a record in German (or possibly Yiddish) at
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=19410
of the birth of 2 children of Leib BUKSBAUUM (BUXBAUM). These children
were born in 1863 and 1865, but the record was made over 20 years later,
in 1887.

In this record:

i. What is the father's father's name?

ii. What is the father's mother's name?

iii. What is the father's age (the age of Leib BUKSBAUM)? Is that the
age when the births happened or the age when the record was made?

iv. What language is it?

2. Part of the record in Polish of the marriage of J. ERENBERG, age
30, and Mariem, age 23, in 1832 in Krasnik is on ViewMate at
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=19406
(the full record is on LDS film 715442, 1832 marriage #29).

i. The word after Mariem on the 1st line shown and the word after
Abrama on the 3rd line are the bride's maiden name and her father's
surname. What is this word?

ii. The last word on the 3rd line is the bride's mother's name. What
is the bride's mother's name (cannot read the handwriting)?

iii. Normally, the father of the bride and the father of the groom
consent to a marriage. This record appears to say that H. Erenberg
(the father of the groom) and someone named Ryfki consented, but does
not mention consent >from Abram (the father of the bride). What is
Ryfki's relationship to the bride? Why is there no mention of consent
from the bride's father Abram?

3. In the margin of item #2, there is a note in Polish dated 1840 that
mentions my ancestor Jankel ERENBERG.
This is on ViewMate at
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=19411
and on LDS film 715442 in the left margin of 1832 marriage #29.
What does this note say (especially about Jankel ERENBERG)?

Cheryl Tallan asked: I seem to remember reading on the discussion
group a while ago that there was a location on jewishgen.org in which people
who had used guides in specific parts of Europe could post recommendations
or complaints for others to consult if they want to hire a guide to visit
that area. I looked fairly carefully through the website a few days ago and
could not find that section. Could someone tell me the location, please?

Indeed Cheryl...we created an infofile...you will find it at
http://www.jewishgen.org/Infofiles/researchers.htm

It begins as follows:
This InfoFile is for JewishGen users interested in finding professional
for-fee genealogical researchers experienced in various aspects of
genealogical research. This material has been collected >from users of
JewishGen who have had experiences dealing with such professionals. To
contribute information to this InfoFile, please contact Peter Haas.

There are links so you can email the jewishgenner who recommends the
