GOLDSZTAJN from Kutno, Poland #general

Amit N

Dear Genners,

I am searching for any information about a GOLDSZTAJN family fro
Kutno, Poland. This has been a pretty large family, as it seems.
I am especially interested (although not solely) in the family of one
GOLDSZTAJN Jakob/Jankiel. I believe he was a timber merchant. It is
most likely that he perished during WWII, but two of his daugthers
might have survived:
Golda, b. 1911
Mirla, b. 1920
I don't know wether they have been married or where had they lived
before the war.
In any case, any information about a GOLDSZTAJN >from Kutno, any at
all, and especially about these mentioned above would be highly
appreciated.

Thank you very much.

LUBECK of Chicago (1880s) #general

Debbie Wetlaufer

I'd like to try to learn more about my 2x Great Grandmother Amalia
LUBECK (1873-1958). She was born 1 Mar 1873 in Germany. Her Hebrew
name was Malka Lubeck. Her father was "Zalman Lubeck." (Although a
transcriber stated: "Or it could be Shalom. Can't tell because there
are no vowels (the little dots below and above letters)."

See Find A Grave Memorial here:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=6660441

She (they?) arrived in the US sometime between 1881-1885. She married
Moritz FRIEDNER in Cook County, Illinois on 05 May 1892. The first of
their children, Ralph (AKA Ruby) was born 1893 in Chicago. They moved
to NYC by 1897 where several other children were born.

She married a second time Samuel BLEICH and they resided in Los
Angeles, CA where she passed away.

I've done a thorough job tracing her >from her marriage forward, but
haven't found much on her family of origin... parents, etc. Would love
to learn more.

I was also wondering is "Zalman" might be "Solomon"?

Thanks.
