JRI-Poland now using electronic signing for Database Sharing Agreements #poland

Stanley Diamond

Dear friends:

Long-time JRI-Poland supporters are aware that when they make
a Qualifying Contribution to a town indexing/extracting project,
they sign a Database Sharing Agreement before receiving a file
of record information. (This is part of JRI-Poland's protocol
to enable our contributors to receive information with their
family record even before the town project is fully funded and
made publicly searchable in the online JRI-Poland database.)

While we initially exchanged agreements with Qualified Contributors
by snail mail and more recently by email using PDF attachments,
we have now instituted the ultimate electronic system for signing
agreements.

Starting immediately, agreements will be handled through Docusign,
the most widely used electronic signature system.

The JRI-Poland Docusign system was implemented by our new Database
Sharing Agreement Coordinator, Sherry Hines, who has taken over
from long-time volunteer Roni Liebowitz. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank Roni for many years of dedicated attention to
this important role in serving the JRI-Poland research community.

And of course, Yasher Koach to Sherry for implementing a system that
will make life so much easier for JRI-Poland administration and
supporters.

INTRO - researching HAENDLER, BODENHEIMER and NOTHMANN family from Beuthen (now Poland) and Mannheim #germany

Atalya Buskila Levy <atalyperach@...>

Hello GerSig,

I have recently joined the group and would like to introduce myself.
I have been doing genealogy research for about two years, in what I
consider to be a beginner level in doing German Jewish Genealogy
research. I live in Netanya, Israel (Previously >from Be'er Sheva).
My native language is Hebrew and I also know speak fluent English and
a bit of Russian.

My German genealogy research relates to my husband's family - mainly
his maternal grandmother, Margot ROSEN nee HAENDLER; I have identified
the names and birth and death dates of all of her grandparents,
six of her great grandparents and 10 of her great great grandparents.

My primary research goals now are (1) to find out what happened to the
rest of her family in the holocaust (mostly the BODENHEIMER family and
descendants); (2) perhaps locate family pictures left behind in
Mannheim when Margot fled after the Baden Jews deportation. I am also
very interested in identifying the lineage of her grandfather Jacob
HAENDLER.

My JGFF Researcher ID number is 715287.
The family names and ancestral towns that I have entered in the
(JewishGen Family Finder) are:

GRUENEBAUM - Burgel, Frankfurt, Mannheim about 1910-1926; Mainly
Eduard GRUENEBAUM born 1879 and divorced >from Johanna HAENDLER nee
BODENHEIMER
HAENDLER- Beuthen, Mexico city, Berlin and Mannheim about 1830-1945
BODENHEIMER - of Malsch and Mannhein; Mainly (but not exclusively)
Herman Willy BODENHEIMER born 1894, Ex-Wife Alice Martha nee GRUMBACH
and son Alfred.
NOTHMANN - of Beuthen (Bytom, poland)
LIPPERT - of Mannheim (and later Argentina)
KUJAWSKI - of Krotoszyn (Poland), Mannheim, and pre WWII London,
Canada, Argentina and USA.

This family tree can be found in Ancestry and Geni, also on MyHeritage
(where it's just a bit less updated). If anyone knows anything and can
be of assistance, I would be very grateful.

Revision Lists - great news #bessarabia

Yefim Kogan

Dear researchers,

I am back talking about Revision Lists - numerous records we have already translated (more
than 170,000 Revision records we have in our database). We started working on these records
in 2009, that was before our SIG was formed...

In any case I counted more than 50! Translators who helped us with these records. We have
worked on more than 40 microfilms! Each microfilm is about 1000 images!! Most of them
came >from LDS, and several were copied by our members!

More than 30 microfilms were completed and there are 10 still in progress, some of them are
going to be completed soon... and you know everything which are in these microfilms, completed
or in progress >from https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Romania/BessarabiaRevisionLists.htm.

Last week I received 3 MORE microfilms and want to let you know what is in them, because it is
very important. Most of our microfilms are >from Revisions of 1848, 1854, 1859, some are >from
1824, 1835 and very few were >from 1875.

In these 3 microfilms we got records from
1859 for Soroki, Rashkov, Ataki (we did not have before)
1875 for Faleshty, Khotin, Kishinev (several small groups), Soroki uezd
1895 >from All Russia Census!

I was trying to find records >from 1895 All Russian Census for Bessarabia for more than 10 years,
and yesterday I found First Bessarabian Jewish Records >from 1895! It is >from town of Soroki. We
got so far only 2 pages of Jewish records, but that is very significant that they exist! According
to many professional researchers 1895 records were destroyed and only statistics are available. I
could not believe that and continued to look for them. What is important in 1895 records, the
information is much broader comparing to other Revisions. For example, if a person was not born
in the place he lives, it will tell exactly where the person was born! Also if a person was registered
in one town, but lived in another town, it will be all in the record. It also tells if a person is literate
or not, and if he/she studied in a school, etc.

I hope that we are going to find more of 1895 Bessarabian records!
