Terezin research #austria-czech

This is a follow up to my previous post about researching addresses in the
Terezin ghetto. I've had a reply >from Mgr. Ilona Dvorakova of the National
Archives in Prague stating they charge 10 Czech crowns per page for
photocopies and the search fee can range >from 250 to 500 Crowns depending on
degree of difficulty. She said due to the number of enquiries it will take
about a fortnight.

In my research, I found out my father's uncle, Abraham HEILPERN, perished at Terezin.
He was transported >from Wien (Vienna) on 27 Aug 1942, and died in Terezin on 2 Feb 1943.
My questions would be: was he buried, and if so, how do I find out where? I would also
appreciate any input >from those who have been there, as I plan to go in the near future ---
information on site (pictures/documents) related to specific people who died there; private
tours; what not to miss, or specifically to ask for. Thank you for your help.

JewishGen: Complex Genealogy in the U.S. Course beginning March 23 #austria-czech

Phyllis Kramer

Looking for someone in the U.S.?
If despite basic online research you have not yet found the Hebrew
names, birth year or town for your U.S. immigrant, consider a focus on
the more complex documents our ancestors generated including
Naturalization, Passports, Death Records (Probate, Obituaries,
Cemeteries), Newspapers, City Directories, Immigration Ports other
than Ellis Island, Major Archives and Libraries, Military and
Government Records.
We're proud of our Education FORUM where students are encouraged to
post one ancestral branch, and the instructor will respond with
answers to questions and suggestions on avenues to research; this
monthlong personal Mentoring process is unique and quite valuable.

Please see the description for requirements, dates and tuition at

ViewMate photo identification #general

Deborah Blinder

I've posted a photo on ViewMate at the following address:
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM65991. I'm
trying to determine when this photo might have been taken.

The photographer is Anton SCHRODER (umlaut over the O) in Vechta/Oldenburg,
Germany. It is a photo of my great-grandfather's brother and his (the brother's)
second wife. They were married in 1874, when he was 39 and she 27. I think they are
quite a bit older than that in this photo, but I could be mistaken. He died in
1917, so the image obviously is no later than that. I have not found the
photographer in pre-1918 business directories >from the area that I
have been able to find (on Genealogy Indexer), and a Google search came up empty.

If anyone can suggest additional resources to help me date this photo, I'd very
much appreciate it. Please respond via the form provided in the ViewMate
application.
Thank you!

(Canada) Royal Canadian Mounted Police Graves Database #general

Jan Meisels Allen

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Graves website has thousands of Mountie
graves, monuments and headstones. I have checked the website and found
"Jewish" sounding names included. Access to the website is free. The
website is located at: http://www.rcmpgraves.com/index.html. Searching the
database is easy: http://www.rcmpgraves.com/database/search.html. You can
search by name, range, history, by crime and punishment (murders, robberies
etc.) If you have relatives who served in the RCMP the website list of
links to other sites may be of assistance.

Thank you to Gail Dever and her blog , Genealogy la carte, for sharing the
information.

Trying to locate Stanley GINSBEG or his descendants.
