My Opus is on USHMM #general

Thomas F. Weiss

Dear fellow family historians,

I have been working on an extensive family history, which is now available as
a pdf on the website of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). Its current
length is 627.9 MB, so it takes a while to download. It took me 1 minute and
14 seconds to download to my computer. If you are interested in reading it,
here is the URL

http://digitalarchives.assets.ushmm.org/pdf/bib261529_001_001.pdf

or

https://tinyurl.com/TFWOpus

The Table of Contents shows those chapters that are in various states of
incompletion and not yet available (NA) on the web site.

Briefly, the material covered are: my parent's origins in Prague and Vienna,
our escape >from Europe after 20 months as refugees primarily in France, my
assimilation and education in America, my research in the last couple of decades
that has reconnected me to my family roots, and my discovery of the tragic
losses of family in the Holocaust.

I welcome any comments, critiques, errata, etc.

Cheers,

Tom Weiss

Request for help finding information on Michael ABRAHAM, nephew of Hedwig and Alfred JULIUSBURGER (Holocaust victims). #general

Alexander Watson <a.watson.genas@...>

Dear All,
Whilst searching for information on the JULIUSBURGER family, last
known residence, Holzmarkt Strasse 65, Berlin, I came across what
appears to be a photo of them on "The List of Deportation >from Berlin"
database section of the Yad Vashem website,(search request;
JULIUSBURGER Hedwig: photo name; p39855). I asked the correspondant
there for more information and she told me that the photo had been
posted in 2006 by a man called Michael ABRAHAM. The correspondant
indicated to me that Mr ABRAHAM is, or perhaps was, the nephew of
Hedwig JULIUSBURGER, who was born Hedwig ABRAHAM, in Allenstein,
Eastern Prussia (now Olstyn, Poland) on 3 Steptember 1897. Hedwig's
husband, Alfred JULIUSBURGER, born in Breslau, (Now Wroclaw, Poland)
on 13 November 1892 was the son of Isidor and Martha JULIUSBURGER.
This means that I have a link to these people via other, living,
members of my family.

I have no other information on Michael ABRAHAM, unfortunately. As
ever, I would be extremely grateful for help in getting into contact
with Mr ABRAHAM, or his descendants.

Best regards

Hello,
=20
I've been doing some renewed search on known family members, and found
out my grandmother's uncle appears on a book named:
A Magyarorszagi Symbolikus Nagypaholy fohatosaga alatt dolgozo
szabadkomuves paholyok tagjainak nevsora : Hivatalos kiadas / kiadja a
magyar kiralyi belugyminiszter. - Budapest : Magyar Kiralyi Allami
Nyomda, 1920. -

Being in Israel I find it very hard to believe I will ever come across
a copy of that one. Is anyone on this group able to put a hand on this
book? I would appreciate the help. I am interested in an excerpt
regarding Dr. Istvan SPITZER >from Zombor/Sombor, which is supposed to
appear on page 215/263, not sure which or whether both.

I would appreciate any help.
Best regards,

(US) Ancestry Free Access to 5 Yearbook Records Through September 7, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. ET. #general

Jan Meisels Allen

Ancestry is offering free access to five yearbook records through September
7, 2018 11:50PM ET. Ancestry had more than 300,000 yearbooks >from all 50
states ranging >from 1900 to 1990. They also have Quaker College Yearbooks
and Alumni Directories 1896-2003. You will be able to access up to 5 records
in the featured collection for free through the end of the promotion-date
given above. Go to: https://www.ancestry.com/cs/yearbooks

You will be required to register with your name and email address and a user
name and password will be sent to you.

Once you have done your search and the results are returned, there will be a
green sign that says "preview" . Be aware that on the right side where it
says to sign up for "discover your family story with a free trial" and grey
box that says start free trial will direct you to sign up for a trial where
you must provide your credit card. This is not the 5 yearbook free trial.
When you open the record on the left is a window that says sign up for this
record- again this is not the free access but will direct you to a 14 day
free trial where you must provide your credit card.

If you want to save the image then right click your mouse and save it to
your hard drive where you can print, save or email to someone,

After 5 free records have been accessed or after the free access period ends
you will only be able to view the records in the featured collection using a
paid Ancestry membership.

To see the full list of records in the featured collections see:
https://search.ancestry.com/search/group/usyearbooks

I have no affiliation with Ancestry and am posting this solely for the
