JGSLA - June 17: Genealogical Journey to Heritage Citizenship: Reclaiming Historical Rights #lithuania

Pamela Weisberger

Have you entertained the idea of applying for foreign citizenship
based on the ancestry of your relatives?
Have you considered the historical implications of reclaiming these
"lost" citizenships?

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles invites you to our
upcoming program:

"Genealogical Journey to Heritage Citizenship: Reclaiming Historical Rights"

Monday, June 17, 2013
Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue
15739 Ventura Blvd, Encino, CA 91436

Family citizenship and legal status affected every aspect of Jewish
life in the "old country." Grant Gochin will discuss the documented
saga of deportations, starvation, massive death, abductions and movements
of one Jewish family to help researchers understand the implications of
pursuing heritage citizenships for past, current and future generations.

A handout explaining the different pathways to acquiring citizenship
for countries in Central and Eastern Europe will also be provided.

Grant Gochin is a Litvak who has been researching his family history
for the past 30 years. Professionally, he is a certified financial
planner and a wealth advisor in Encino, California. He also serves as
the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Togo and as secretary of the
executive committee of the Los Angeles Consular Corps. He is married
with one son.

The traveling library will be available at 7:00 PM and refreshments
will be served. JGSLA members are free, guests are $5.00.

Lithuania SIG #Lithuania JGSLA - June 17: Genealogical Journey to Heritage Citizenship: Reclaiming Historical Rights #lithuania
