My father and his family lived at Ptasia 4. The street has since been destro=

I posted two ViewMate images # 32140 and # 32141. I would appreciate
an exact translation of the writing on the back of the photo, as well
as any help or clues as to where this photo was taken. Perhaps someone
might also recognize any of the people in the photo.

This 1937 shabbat dinner photo is connected to the Ekman family. My
great aunt Chana and a brother are in the center of this photo. Chana
is the dark haired young girl towards the back in a white or light
jacket and her brother-I'm not sure which one- is to the right of her.
The family was >from Ilya,Belarus. Some of Chana's older siblings and
other family members moved away to Warsaw much earlier on. I have no
idea where the photo was taken (Ilya, Warsaw or somewhere else?), what
the writing on the back says and who wrote it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review them,

Anyone ever heard of Telishevsky or Schecter in or around Ekaterinoslav? #ukraine

Martha Forsyth

I just learned that my paternal grandparents, natives of the Gomel
region in Belarus, were married in Ekaterinoslav in 1903! So now I am
extending my search for records about them to
Ekaterinoslav/Dnipropetrovsk. Would welcome any suggestions about
available records. This record was found in Dnipropetrovsk; apparently
others are stored in Odessa; I could specifically use some guidance on
whether any Odessa records can be found online.

Thanks much -
