Marriage record for Alice Weinmann and Marcus Morreau in Calais #france

Amy B Cohen

Hi, I am searching for a marriage record for Alice Weinmann and Marcus
Morreau. They would have been married around 1900, and the family
believes they were married in Calais, France. How would I find such a
record? Alice's father was named Joseph Weinmann, and I am also
looking for any records showing that he lived in Calais. English
records say that Alice was born in Calais on June 15, 1880, but again,
I have no records >from France to establish that. I know that by 1902
Alice was married and living in Manchester, England, because their
first child, Rene, was born near Manceshter on October 14, 1902.

Thank you,

Amy Cohen

Searching for family of Hermina (Minnie) REICHER and Florian SCHWARTZ #general

Hilary Osofsky

We are searching for the family of my great-grandmother's sister, Hermina
(Minnie) REICHER and her husband, Florian SCHWARTZ. We are hoping that
family members might be able to assist us in identifying a family photograph
taken in Hungary in the early 1890's.

Minnie was born to Kati STEINER and Jakob REICHER in Hungary (possibly
Benedekfalu > Benadikova) 01 Jan 1871 and died 24 Mar 1947 in Bronx, New York.

She married Florian Schwartz 24 May 1894 in Kings County, New York. Together
they had children Jacob, Milton, Frieda (Florence), and Henry, all born in
Manhattan between 1895 and 1903.

In the U.S., they were joined by Minnie's siblings Lina, Markos, Sarah,
Josef, and Marcus (Mark), a painter who lived in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Florian emigrated to the U.S. in 1890. His parents were Rosie LACKNER and
Jacob SCHWARTZ; they had 11 children.

Minnie and Florian lived and worked in New York City, where they owned a
laundry business.

Their son Jacob married Eva Stockman and had daughters Rita (married [-]
Kalen?) and Susan. Jacob was a machinist.

Daughter Frieda (Florence) married Irving R Weinberg, who was born in
Guatemala and worked for a wholesale dyed yarn company. Their son was Richard.

Henry was a taxi cab driver.

Please respond privately.

Thank you.

Dear Gersig,

My sister-in-law's mother was born in 1941 in Shanghai where her
parents were refugees. Her father died a couple of years later and she
has only ever seen a single picture of him as one face in a group of
about 20. She would love to find a picture and I am trying to help
her. To that end, I thought I would post his personal information as
well as where he lived, in case any of you have suggestions for places
I might look for photos, particularly >from Frankfurt and Shanghai.

Mosek Shmuel Fajwusiewicz (also known as Motek and Max) was born in
Czestochowa, which was part of Poland but close to Prussia, in 1899.
He moved to Frankfurt as a young man and was working there in 1930;
got married to Jenny Seiferheld of Langenselbold in the mid-1930s.
He was in Buchenwald and then was released and the family left to Shanghai.

Any thoughts that people have about where I might help my
sister-in-law's mom find a photo of her father, please private message
me. (Of course if it is a general resource, share it with everyone!)

Thank you,
