Katcherginsky Family of Vidzy #lithuania

brooklyncowboy@...

I provide the below information to share with others researching or having
interest in the Katcherginsky Family, my ancestors, of Lithuania. Would love
to communicate with anyone who believes we may related and wants to share
research data.

The information comes >from my individual research as well >from results
I have identified in searching of the ALD Revision Lists.

Query of the All Lithuania Revision List Database 2 has identified to me
potential ancestors based on the given name of my great grandfather -
Shkhna - as it appears (and I have phonetically translated) on his
gravestone. The last name was Katcherginsky and per family info my
maternal great grandmother's given name was Shana Reza (sp).

Specifically I have questions related to the question marks (?) that appear
in some of the data fields for what I believe are some of my ancestors. I
assume the question marks relate to the translators questioning or
assumptions made regarding the data as read >from the original documents.

Thus would appreciate any comments on the following 2 specific ALD -2
extracts and if someone has access to the original data sources would
appreciate reassessment that may provide clarification and perhaps
closure of question marked data.

potentially his sister, which could link them to the Zelik and Ginda
above, who would then be my great great grandparents.

Additionally, I am aware that we have relatives who migrated to Canada vs.
U.S. but have not yet finalized the exact relationship but the above may
help with that. I know they lived in Granby and later near Montreal.

Family is Chaim (Hyman) Katcherginsky born in Widzie in 1877 and Rachel
Fanny (Richmond) Katcherginsky born in Vilna in 1882.
Children - Abraham, Ellis, Bertha, Henrietta, and David
The family name was later shortened to Kary by some of the children,
including David.
According to cemetery records I have Hyman's parents were Zelic
Katchergensky born in Poland and Bessie? And Fanny's parents were
Isaac Richmond born in Poland and Hinda.

I have not been able to identify them in the Lithuanian or Polish
data bases.

Appreciate in advance any thoughts, additional info and if possible
recheck of the actual records that can be provided as well as contact
info >from potential relatives.

Thanks

He could immigrate >from the other country than USSR or perhaps it took place

BTW, year 1931 was a record year for US residents immigration to USSR!
It was the time of the Great Depression, and following advertisement by the

Identifying Towns of birth in Russia - Zinkow and Henovitz #general

WALTER SPECTOR

Hello Genners,

My great grandfather's Petition for Naturalization indicates that his children
were born in Zinkow and Henovitz,Russia. I cannot locate them. I have completed
the Jewishgen town search. The children's US documents only indicate that they
were born in Proskuro or Proskrov. I am trying to be more specific in my
research and want to locate the exact towns.

Are these two towns near one another? What could there present day names be? I
know that the family moved to many homes in the US. In advance any assistance
will be greatly appreciated.

Regards and thank You

Seeking Information About Sarah ZINKER and Possible Siblings #general

Joyce Eastman

I recently received information >from a contact that my paternal grandmother
(Sime Bruche HELFER - also known as Sime Bruche ZINKER/ZINKOWER and Bertha
WILDER) may have had a sister named Sarah ZINKER who was married to Samuel
GRUBER in Manchester, England, and I am trying to find out more information
about these two individuals and their family, as well as any more
information that might be available about her siblings. The parents of both
Sime Bruche HELFER (b. 1880) and Sarah ZINKER (b. abt. 1873) were Judith
HELFER and Aron ZINKOWER/ZINKER - all >from Brody, Poland (now Ukraine).

I should note that my grandmother emigrated >from Brody, Poland with her
husband (Salomon Wolf WILDER) and children to Vienna, Austria in 1914. From
there she was deported and killed by the Nazis in 1942. I previously posted
a family picture on JewishGen's Viewmate, without any results.

I have been researching this family for quite some time, and until now have
not been able to find any possible information regarding my paternal
grandmother's siblings. My ultimate goal is to locate any living relatives
of my paternal grandmother.

If anyone has more information regarding Sarah ZINKER or other possible
siblings of my grandmother, please contact me privately.
