Hello,

Hoping you can help my with my researchs for documents about my late
great-greatgrandfather the russian railway-official Jakob Davidov
KANTOROWITZ/KANTOROWICZ (b. 1835 in Slonim/Belorus. d. 1903 in Warszawa or
St. Petersburg/Russia), his wife Henriette/Minne Mindel/Wilhemina Isaakovna
KANTOROWITZ (b. 1842 in Riga/Latvia, d. 1914 in St. Petersburg), nee
KEILMANN and their three childrens:
1.) Sophia Jakobovna KANTOROWITZ (b. 1863 in Vilnius, married ?
children? dies ?),
2.) Alexandr Jakobov KANTOROWITZ (b. 1866 in Vilnius, married
?, childrens ? dies ?)
and
3.) my greatgrandmum Eugenie Jakobovna KEILMANN, nee KANTOROWITZ (b. 1868 in
Vilnius; 1886 married in Riga with the dentist Isidor Philipov KEILMANN;
killed in autum 1941, with her husband and other
relativs, into the Ghetto Riga/Latvia).
Now I want to know, if Jakob KANTOROWITZ as a railway official stood with
his family a time (ca. 1869-186 ?) in Charkov ?
My late greatgrandmum Eugenie wrote in Riga into a notice 1936, that she
grows up in Charkov and went there to the privat school/institut of
Prof.Obolensky/Obolewsky. I know also,that my late great-greatgrandparents
lived lived in Warszawa >from ca.1890/1896-1900.
Do you know anythinks about the Institut Prof.Obolensky in Charkov. Did it
existed ?

If any people can help my with my researchs, please contact me.

Best regards and a gitn Shabbes

Bebruysk, Belarus #belarus

Michael Antin <mantin@...>

I will be teaching in Latvia in 2006. I am interested in pursuing a
search of my family name, ANTIN. My father and his family emigrated >from
Bebruysk just before WWI, settling in Milwaukee Wisc., >from which we
moved in 1948 to Los Angeles. It was stated to me that the family name,
Antin, has been the same for centuries, as it was in Bebruysk. Were I
to train to Bebruysk >from Latvia, would I find records that might help
in my search? Is anyone working on Bebruysk? I am advised that this
town, was the "Jewish Town", containing 80% Jewish population, prior to
WWII. How did this town originate? What is its history? Thanks in
advance. Michael Antin, Los Angeles, California: Reply to:

I prepared the analysis at http://www.pikholz.org/Rosenbloom/EBR.html for
my own family, but since there are several Borisov families mentioned, I
thought I'd bring it to the group's attention.

A Dead End ? Research prior to 1830's in the Ostrowo Wielkopolski area. #poland

Geoff Kaiser <geoff_kaiser@...>

Dear researchers,

I am looking for some advice on how to proceed >from what looks a bit like a
dead end.

I have got my great grandfather's Marriage Certificate (Joseph KAISER and
Helene PACH) >from the archives in Poland (Zielonga Gora). This tells me
that his father was Heyman KAISER >from Ostrowo (Ostrow Wielkopolski) and
born in 1834.

I have consulted the LDS film for this location (1836 census records) and
found Salomon KEISER about 25 years, no wife, no children.

I have also been told that the Posen Naturalisation records have Moritz
KAISER of Ostrowo in 1834.

Does any one have any suggestions for sources that may help me decide which
if either of these people may link to Heymann KAISER, my confirmed, GG
Grandfather, or other ideas on how to progress further on records /
information >from this region in the 1830's and earlier.

Need Translation of Polish Birth Record (AKT 456) dated 1831 #poland

Howard Orenstein

Dear Friends,

I have uploaded a copy of a birth record for Zysman BOLION, who may
be my great great great grandfather.

I typed in the family name, BLOOM, at www.JRI-Poland.org, and this
was one of the records that was indexed for Warszawa. According to
the index, Zysman was born on 7 April 1828 to his father, Peysah
Hersz BOLION and mother, Jenta. He was registered in 1831, AKT 456. I
went to the local Family History Center and obtained film number 0689512,
and photocopied the record, which then I scanned into my computer. The
recordcan be seen at the following link:

http://www2.mcdaniel.edu/Psychology/HBO/ZysmanBULION.jpg

I would like to get the entire record translated, which looks like it
is written in Polish.

Thank you for your help; it is gratefully appreciated.
