Does anyone have experience of using the Ukrainian Center of Genealogical=
Research?

I sent them $100 as requested on 3rd April, and had several emails >from them=
before and after this, but the last communication I have had was on the 2nd=
May, saying they had a 2 week holiday coming up. I've heard nothing since=
this, despite several emails >from me.

Has anyone used the Ukrainian Center of Genealogical Research before? Are=
they a 'kosher' organization, or have I lost my $100?

And there are oven more resources online!

The JGS-Montreal has just recently put all burials >from one of
Montreal's largest cemeteries on the JewishGen JOWBR burials index
(http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/cemetery/) and there are several
GOLDENZWEIGs there including Isaac who died in 1938. Since the city
directory at 4000 Colonial is for I. GOLDENZWEIG, I assume this is
the same person and would explain why the entry disappeared then. If
his wife was Braine, she died in 1929.

The JGS-M also has a large collection of vital records and I will
send you the GOLDENZWEIG records privately. Further details at

found records of Goldenzweigs through 1939 and then they disappear
from Montreal, at least in the directories I could figure out how to
search - do any of you genners have GOLDENZWEIG relatives who were
in Montreal or know of this family?

Seeking PoT submitters Rut PRAG or Rut FEFERBERG in Israel #general

NATALIE LAMB

Dear fellow researchers,

Is there anyone in Israel who knows Rut PRAG or Rut FEFERBERG or their
descendants? It is also possible that they may be one and the same person.

There are Pages of Testimony submitted by both these names for their sister
Ester NIEWOLSKA, nee ABKIEWICZ, who lived in Zagorow, Konin, and died there
in 1941.

Rut FEFERBERG submitted Pages of Testimony on 21.2.1957 for Ester and also
for her husband Gutman NIEWOLSKI, who I believe was related to my father's
NIEWOLSKI family.

Unfortunately I cannot read the Hebrew PoT forms but have to rely on the
English translations provided on the Yad Vashem website, and so I do not
know whether the submitters gave an address in Israel.

I would very much appreciate any help or advice that would enable me to make
contact with them or their families.

On Yom Hashoah, we [Yad Vashem] put up a whole new site. We did this in
order to integrate a Russian interface for the site, a very important
move as we have also started a project to collect Pages of Testimony
among Russian speaking Jews. The project is currently being carried out
in the Ukraine and in Israel.

Like most new sites, the new site has bugs. We have sorted out most of
the bugs, but the site is still not as stable as the site we had before
Yom Hashoah. At this point, most of the time it works fine, but the
problems described below happens every few days. Our computer people
are working hard to solve the problem as quickly as possible.

PLEASE write us at central.database@yadvashem.org.il if you encounter
technical problems with our site. We usually aren't able to answer you
quickly enough to help you, but you help us (and yourself in the long
run) by making sure we know all the problems that exist.
