Latvia additions to 1897 Census #lithuania

Arlene Beare

It is a long time since I added data to the 1897 Census in the
JewishGen Latvia Database. I am very excited as I now have
2,000 names to be added. They include names >from small villages,
so will be of great interest.

I was, in my opinion, unjustly criticised when the 1897 Census was
added, as the names of children were not included. There would
have been no 1897 Census for Latvia on JewishGen, as neither the
money or the manpower was available to extract the names of children.
The data was subsequently linked to the Raduraksti site.

Once again there are family names but not the names of children.
The data will be linked to the Latvian Archives Raduraksti database
so further research can be carried out.

http://www.lvva-raduraksti.lv/en.html

It will take time to get the data up but I wanted to share this
with you as it is something to look forward to.
