Sonny,
I have also been wondering if this is the right record. I realize that the name and date are from the right time period, but want confirmation that the parents are the same.

Subject: [JewishGen.org] ViewMate translation request – Russian from Zamosc, Poland – AJLBAUM #Poland #Translations

I would appreciate an English translation of the Russian text of the 1891 Zamosc, Poland birth record for Gerszon Genoch AJLBAUM, Akta 167.  I would like a translation of all the genealogically significant information, especially the actual place and date of birth and the names and ages of his parents and the witnesses.

It is on ViewMate at the following address:

http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM76308 .

Please respond using the online ViewMate form.

Thank you very much.

FW: Bucharest, Timisoara and Iasi #romania

1. I have received a couple of requests >from people who reference a
project to document Bucharest Jewish Cemeteries. I do not know who was
actively working on this when I got involved with Rom-Sig. If you were, or
if you know anyone who was involved in this project, please contact me with
information. I'd like to be able to resurrect the project or initiate
attempts to do so. If this is of interest to you, please contact me.

2. There is an interesting article I am reading in Tablet, an online
magazine. The author was born in Timisoara in 1948 and speaks of the culture
of that community in his youth. The link is
https://www.tabletmag.com/jewish-arts-and-culture/295587/timisoara

3. As previously noted, if you find a record >from Iasi that is other than
the cemetery lists, you are welcome to write to me to obtain a photo of the
actual record used to transcribe the record. I will need a copy of the record
as you find it on Jewishgen in order to send it to you. We request a new
donation to the Iasi fund in Jewishgen for this copy. Again, we don't have
any more information on the burial records as they were directly obtained >from
the Jewish community in Iasi, as I understand it, without any images.

Have a happy Chanukah, chag sameach!

Dear Friends,

I am searching for the relatives of two merchants of metal and alloys from Warszawa (Warsaw) in Poland: Gepner (Abraham?) and Prywes. It was suggested that during the WWII their establishments were taken in the formal administration by their Polish friends to save their estates; in opposite situation their estates were lost for German occupies. It seems that one of such friend was Prof. Jan Czochralski from Warsaw Technical University.

I will be very happy to take a contact with the persons who can help in the verification of the above information.

With best regards,
