1930 WISOTSKY Family, Bronx NY, looking for family members. #general

B. Lieberman <new_york_searcher@...>

Hi list:

I am searching a Family 1930 Bronx NY, what I know so far is this and
putting this to cyber space today:

I need to know, what is my best plan to try to find any living members
of this one family I have begun a small search so far. I have searched
this last name for many years, and much again over the last two years I
never seen this record till a week ago, it was not on [name of commercial
genealogy website deleted --Mod.] in the last two years I have looked ,I
do not know why it appears now? but its a Family I think I am looking for
now.

There is a Bronx 1941 Petition record for a Anna Wisotsky,
and I am hoping its the right one with a picture of her!.

506 Tinton ave, Bronx, April 21 1930 - District 501-750, Sheet 17-B,
Seems the entire Family was 1908 na

Charles Wisotsky 63 Wid 1908 Na

David Wisotsky 32 Russian, 1908 na Printer

Anna H. Wisotsky 33 ( Film Studios) 1908 na, [ She would be been 11 in
1908 ] Cant find her on Ellis Island

Rose 30/ Russian
Ben 28 / mechanic/ Russian
Abraham 26 Salesmen clothing/Russian
Alice 21 / dress maker/ Russian
Sofie ( sister) 37 wid/ 20/ Russia
Isadore (1915 ) 15 / New York / School

( I think this is wrong, as there is a Isadore M. Wisotsky on Rootsweb
born 1918 and he would of been 14 in 1932 >from Notes and info I am going
from) I have been looking for a Wisotsky born in 1913 but I think the 3
may of been a 8 in stead.

living next door was a Max & Millie Scher, and daughter Estelle, I found
out that in 1910, there was a Sam Scher living at 220 East 109th St,
E. 109th St Manhattan has been coming up with Families in my search
related to me; it is my Thoughts David Wisotsky lived in the 300 block
of East 109th also in 1910, but I cant prove this yet.

#2) A question I have is When people Ferry over >from port Morris to
Queens where would the most likely place have been to do this >from the
Mott Heaven area of the Bronx?.

#3) Film Studios, would anyone know if this meant Motion picture or
still camera?

#4) Families I have been looking at Connect to Cigar makers and Motion
Picture Film Studios both in New York, Saint John New Brunswick Canada,
Montreal Canada.

Thank you all!

Help!

Does anyone know how to find the streets located in Ward 19, Election
District 14, for New York City in 1870. I have the census record but I
want to locate the area. I've searched extensively on the internet with
little success.

Thanks,

I want to thank everyone for their comments on this subject, I feel
personally that it is important to record relationships that are
marriages in all but name even if there are no children involved. The
partners do effectively become part of each others families, and imagine
future generations looking at photos asking "Who's that with Aunt/Uncle
....?" and no-one knowing even if they had spent 20 or more years
together. I will be looking at changing the software I use to one that
allows me to add "partners".

Searching ZURNOVSKY BOGOSLAVSKY #ukraine

MariaPaz.RIVERA@...

I am new to this group, and am anxious to learn anything
about life in Chernigov at the begining of 1900.
I am searching for some information about my maternal family from
Chernigov/Ukraine, this is the information I have

My grandfather Nokhim Salomon ZURNOVSKY BOGOSLAVSKY, born in Chernigov =
on
25 december, around
1894 and 1896, he had nine sisters and brothers (Liova, David, Boris,
Misha, =D1u=F1a, Dvoira, Jifim, ?)
When my grandfather came to Argentina in 1924 from
Napoles, Italy they changed his surname to ZURNOVSKY, because of the
translation.
He always told me that his surname was Yagurnovsky.
He lost contact with his family around 1933/34 and he never hear >from t=
hem
again.
He mouved to Chile, married and had 2 children, one of them is my mothe=
r.

In Russia,my grandfather was recruited at the pre revolution time. Beca=
use
or his education, he was in charge of a border military post between Po=
lony
and Ukraine ( where ?) where he allowed many jewish to escape.
My question is, does anyone know where can I find the military records=
to
verify this?

My great grandfathers were:
Zakhar Zurnovsky born probably around 1855, and died around 1926 in
Chernigov and he was a very religious jewish. I supposed he was Chassid=
im.
How can I find iformation about this?
Married Frada Bogoslavsky Abarbanel, where /when ?
born probably around 1860 and died around 1933 in Chernigov
She was a Landsurveyor.

I would appreciate anyone who has any information on this
family to contact me.
Please response to me, directly - not to the list.

Thank you!

Hi all,
I for one have found that occasionally important messages emailed to me
have ended up in my very active SPAM file. Please give folks the benefit of
the doubt that this may have happened and check those SPAM folders carefully
before you delete them. I am hoping that explains some of the lack of those
important 'thankyou' notes.
Sincerely,

I don't have any information but I am very interested in these
estates too. My mother's family the Schlossbergs had an estate

They said my Great-Grandfather, David GREENSPON, lived near Grobin
(which is in Kurland) for more than 20 years. He first lived in
the inn-house Staben of the Bukamens estate and then moved to
estate Mezheneken.

Hello,
About Alsace. We have good "censuses" of Alsace in 1808 and 1851. You can
find the indexes of these censuses on our Website www.genealoj.org , in
the section "Other Researches". I have found there no mention of PLATTEIS
/ PLATTUS. Nevertheless, one can find the name BLATT in Cernay(Haut-Rhin)
in 1808 and 1851, and in Thann (Haut-Rhin) in 1851 and the name PLATTE in
1808 at Besançon (in the file Haut-Rhin).

May I also suggest that you ask a question on the same site in the Section
"Questions-Answers".

Good luck
