Warsaw Jewish merchants' association reports now searchable #warsaw #poland

Logan Kleinwaks

The Warsaw Jewish merchants' association annual reports, 1874-1930,
that Nicole Berline mentioned recently are now searchable on
http://genealogyindexer.org. They are included if you search with the
default options, or if you change the "Any Place" dropdown to "Warsaw"
or "Poland." The reports include lists of members, and the earliest
and latest appearances of members might provide clues to estimate
dates of birth or death in some cases. (Note that only 30 of the
years 1874-1930 are currently available; if I find more, I will add
them.)

All search results link directly to scans of the annual reports. To
view the images, you will need to have a DjVu plugin installed for
your web browser (I use the plugin from
http://www.caminova.net/en/downloads/download.aspx?id=1).

Best regards,

The Bolechow Jewish Heritage Society is happy to announce that its 2012
annual meeting will be held on Sunday, May 6 at 1 pm EDT at the Pratt
Institute, Manhattan Campus, 144 W 14th Street in New York. The meeting
will feature presentation of an exciting new design that has been created by
museum design graduate students at the world-renowned Pratt Institute. Over
the past few months, these students have designed a prospective new museum
of Jewish life to be located in a restoration of the historic Bolechow Shul,
an expanded website and blog, and a traveling exhibit. Come see the
students' presentation and stay to discuss turning this dream into reality,
as well as the BJHS' other activities, including preservation of the Jewish
cemetery in Bolechow and the Taniava Mass Grave site.

Krochmal and Sirkus families from Zloczow #poland

Steve Jaron

Hi,
I was wondering if there were any among you that happened to be
knowledgeable about the Krochmal and Sirkus families >from Zloczow. I
am trying to figure out how they are connected more than just through
my 2nd Great Grandmother's sister Adele/Hudel Krochmal's marriage to
Simon Sirkus, supposedly they were cousins and I am trying to figure
out how.

Along with this question leads me to another question - in the JRI-
Poland indexes it shows marriages when people people were older (in their
50's) - are the people listed as their parents actually their parents.

Thanks in advance for any help
-Steve

Researching:
Tarnopol - Krochmal, Rothstein, Zucker, Goldbrum, Bieler,
Kostenblatt,Landau, Kaczer, Bilker, Fruchtman, Seid, Sirkus
Bresovica - Rothstein
Stanislwow - Tillinger, Wax, Mossler, Silver
Zabolotiv - Tillinger
Kolomyya - Wax, Mossler
Also looking at Schneewiess (Rzeszow), and Lichten and
Kugelmass(Stanislwow), Elefant, Nass, and Schaffer for friends of
mine/cousins-in-law and their possible
connections to my tree
