Rabbi PUSHINSKY - Mizrachi Yeshiva in Hebron 1912 #rabbinic

rsisseroff

BS"D
I am researching a Yeshiva that my great grandfather Rabbi Shalom
PUSHINSKY ran in Hebron >from about 1911 to 1918. It seems to have
been a "Pre-Mizrachi" yeshiva.

Does anyone know about such a Yeshiva?

I have a letter addressed to "The Director of Yeshiva De La Hebron".
So perhaps it was a French Sponsored yeshiva?
This all I know about the Yeshiva.
Later my great grandfather taught (or was menahel) of Talmud Torah
Mizrachi in Yerushalayim in the 1930's.

Any information would be peachy.
Thanks,
Raanan S. Isseroff

Dear friends
I have a new query, My grandfathers name was Jean LOEFF (with umlaut) born in
Holleschau they married in Wien he was son of Abraham (Adolf)and Katherina
LOEFF >from Holleschau they had 6 children 5 boys and one girl one of
them was my father the other one was Paul who was deported the same as
Viktor and my grandparents all 4 died in the Holocaust, Walter and Fritz and
my father Tobias save their lives because they fled >from Wien to
Shanghay. Bertha the only girl save to England.
Some days ago I asked you about Carlos Loeff son of Fritz my unknown Cousin
which with your help I can tell you all now I have found, I only know he is
alive and its suppose he should make contact with me with G'ds help in the
next days.( so I sincerely hope he do.)
But my new query is the following my grandfather Jean had two brothers one
was Wilhelm and the other one was Karl I think Karl(1867) was a very wealthy
man he was married with Anna(1868) and he lived at 1090 Lichtensteistrasse 65
in Wien a wonderful place, I know they are both buried in the
Zentralfriedhof(T4-20-20-27) but they don't have any gravestone on it,
because they died 1942 and this was forbidden for Jews.
I think that one Mitzwah I should do would be in the future to put this
gravestones for them, but first I want to know something about them
principally why if he was so wealthy he never had any contact with my
grandfather who with 6 children had it so difficult.
So my question is how can I know who was this man Karl Loeff, did they lost
any child or were they alone, which was his work, why this family
isolation, why could they stay in Wien till 1942 till they died why didn't
they be deported before as the rest perhaps they were ill, well I need
to know about Karl and Anna....
any suggestion about this gr uncle will be very appreciated.

Best Regards
Herbert John Loeff

Dear Forum:
I am a beginner in the field of genealogy. My father and one of his
cousins have done more extensive research. The TACHAU family stems >from
Wolfenbuttel, near Braunschweig, were they administrated a Jewish boys'

On my mother's side, we have roots in Colmar, France >from families

I live in Bnei Brak, Israel, but grew up in America, where the rest of the

Theses cards give the last address, transport and transport number to

Vienna City Councillor {Moritz Nowak} and the Austria Brunnen in Ottakring. #austria-czech

celiamale@...

Robert Fraser asked about the fountain in Ottakring Neulerchenfelderstrasse: "My
great-grandfather Moritz NOWAK was a Councilor of Vienna City Council. The story
also says that he had responsibility for water supply. I am attempting to verify
(or not!) this fact. In 1898, he presided at the opening of a fine water fountain
with a statue of 'Austria' and the Kaiser's portrait as part of the latter's
jubilee. I have a photo of the fountain on Neulerchenfelderstrasse in the
suburb of Ottakring. Sadly the fountain no longer exists - it was probably bombed
in WW2."

I would consult the Ottakringer Bezirks Museum:
Bezirksmuseum Ottakring
16., Richard-Wagner-Platz 19b
Telefon: 4000 / 161 27
Fax: 491 96/ 991 61 11

Also read about the architect Anton ZAGORSKI - whose work on the water
system in Ottakring led to the building of the monumental "Austria
Brunnen": http://www.azw.at/www.architektenlexikon.at/de/710.htm

1888: Austria-Brunnen, Wien 16, Neulerchenfelder Strasse (with sculptor Hans
SCHERPE; no longer in existence)

I would also contact the Architekturzentrum and the Wiener Stadt und
Landesarchiv [they must have listings of councillors].

Once we know the exact dates it should be possible to find
contemporary newspaper reports - Moritz Nowak may be mentioned as a dignitary
present at the opening ceremony.

Dombrova near Sokolka Poland; WINNIKOFSKY? surname #general

news@...

My paternal, paternal great grandmother, Feigel WINNIKOFSKY KOMISARUK
(1843-1923) was born in Dombrova (5340 N 2321 E) Poland. Feigel W.
K. had a (first?) cousin, aged 80 or so, who was alive and living with
his second wife in a small town near Sokolka (5325 N 2330 E),
Poland. This small town could have been Dombrova, which is 29.5 km/18.3
miles >from Sokolka. This cousin was supported by his children, who lived
in the United States. I know no more about this cousin. We know that
Feigel's father, Moshe Kalman WINNIKOFSKY, was born in the Sokolka
region and had a younger brother. If this elderly-in-1922 cousin was a
child of this younger brother his surname would have been WINNIKOFSKY,
but of course there are other ways he could have been a first cousin,
each of which would give another surname. There are a large number of
WINNIKOFFs/WINIKOFFs/WEINKLEs in the US who are descended >from this
Moshe KALMAN WINNIKOFSKY and who I know to be my relatives. I know there
are other Jewish American and Israeli WINNIKOFFs who could be related to
me. Does anyone know of an elderly Jewish man, aged 80 or so in 1922,
and living with his second wife in a small town near Sokolka, Poland and
supported by his kids in the US?
(Yes, I know this is a long shot.)
