Polish translation help needed #austria-czech

elars@...

Dear fellow AustriaCzech SIGGers,

This request is for assistance with translating some documents >from the
turn of the century written in Polish.

These two records of birth are >from the Polish State Archives and concern:

Aron Weksler, and Machela Weksler, >from Klobuck in Poland. Although the
area is not within the normal jurisdiction of our group I am hoping that
some of our members know Polish and so can assist me with the translation.

The files can be viewed on Viewmate,

http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/toview.html

as VM9135 and VM9136. (They will have to be rotated on your computer to
view them readily.)

The direct addresses for viewing are
http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/All/viewmateview.asp?key=9135

and http://data.jewishgen.orgt/viewmate/All/viewmateview.asp?key=9136

Any help with the translation will have our greatest appreciation.
Please send your responses directly to me at elars@shaw.ca and
not to the SIG.

Thanks in advance,

GerSig@...

In the spirit of the festival of lights, I have posted public "thanks" to a
few GerSIG members who have helped me illuminate the history of my ancestral
families during 2006. My thank you notes are now up at the JewishGen Wall of
Honor:

http://www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen-erosity/honors0.html

In doing this I have also made a financial contribution to JewishGen
in recognition of the work of those whose expertise and volunteer efforts
sustain this invaluable free resource.

As you celebrate the festival of lights with joy and gift giving, please join
me in remembering the breakthroughs made in your family history research and
thanking this institution and those individuals who have helped make these
possible.

You can add a memorials, congratulatory notes or thanks messages to the Wall
of Honor in just a few minutes at:

http://www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen-erosity/honors.asp

I've been doing this regularly for years. The payment system is completely
secure and your generosity won't generate any unwanted email.

Please remember those who illuminate the world of Jewish Genealogy:

VM9121,9126,9127,9128 (Yiddish Translation) #general

Steven Bloom <sbloom@...>

Hi,

I would appreciate it immensely if someone could help me out with the Yiddish
translation of the following documents on Viewmate:

http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=9121
http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=9126
http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=9127
http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=9128

VM9121 looks to be a short typed letter or postcard, possibly written on behalf
of someone through an immigrant aid society (I can decipher that much, but not
much more). It looks to be >from Vilna in 1935. VM 9128 looks like it might have
been written in hand on the back (or it might have just bled through during
storage).

VM 9126 and 9127 look like they are pages of the same letter.
I don't know what it is about. I would appreciate any insight into its meaning.

VM9128 is another letter that might have been written on the back of VM9121.

Thanks in advance for any help. I am thankful for the help I have received in
the past.

The second wife of my ggg-grandfather (Joseph/Seelig DAHL) was
Brigitta/Jetta/Sara SUSSMANN (various spellings) (or SOESMAN) the
daughter of Levi SOESMAN and Sara LIJSER of Meerssen, Netherlands.
According to the transcript of the records in Geilenkirchen and
Huenshoven (Germany), she had 2 children out of wedlock: David (born
24 Feb 1817) and Sibilla (born 17 Aug 1819).

The same transcripts have no record of either individual getting
married or dying in Geilenkirchen or Huenshoven.

They may have taken my ggg-grandfather's family name: DAHL.

If anyone has any information of either of these people, I would be interested.
