Searching LISKOWSKY, WOLINSKY #general

liss@...

It's been a long time since I posted a query about
LISKOWSKY and WOLINSKY.

Shachna LISKOWSKY (1856-1937) was born in Bereza (Belarus)
and moved to Antopol to marry Chaya WOLINSKY (1856-1943).

Shachna's parents were Mordecai (1831-1901) and Sarah (1830-1910).
His brothers were: Reuben (1858-1936) who emigrated to Argentina
and Joseph (1860-1940) who died in Warsaw.

Chaya's parents were Velvel and Esther. Chaya's siblings were:
Moshe Yitzak, Naphtalie, Tsiril, Lebke, Shaya.

Velvel's father was Aaron David ben Moshe.
Velvel had 6 brothers including Sander (1855-1943).

Aaron David's brother was Baruch Wolinsky (1809-1917) who had
3 wives and 22 children.

I have been working with Jewishgen members Robert Wolin and
Jay Ivler on linking our WOLINSKY families together and this
represents our latest research.

We have found the following variations of Wolinsky: Wolin,
Wolins, Wolinetz, Woliyniec.

If you have any information, please contact:

Feivel Zalman.

there is another Philip in my file whiose name was always Pesach Nossen but on

Yesterday I replied to an Avrum who was looking for Rodin family. I
clicked on his e.mail address to reply to him, but it BOUNCED?? Could I
therefore ask Avrum to contact me privately and I will give him the Rodin
info.

About 2 weeks ago you published a website add concerning an article
ritten about Libau. My cousin in San Diego (with Libau connections)
is interested in this website and I am wondering if you could let me
have the
website address for him as I did not keep it once I read the article

Family history record forms #general

Irwin Siegel <imsiegel@...>

I am getting ready to send out blank family history record forms to all
my relatives in order to collect family history information. I already
have the record forms put out by Judith R. Frazin in 1984 (Jewish Family
History Record and Immigrant Family History Record). Does anyone know
if these forms have been revised/updated ? Also, any other suggestions
for family record forms that are user friendly, comprehensive, and useful
for Jewish genealogy purposes?

Thanks for any suggestions, ideas or information on this topic.

Cook Co, IL maven needed #general

Stephen Warshall <s_warshall@...>

I am trying to locate the petition for naturalization of a relative
who was naturalized in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, in
1906.

I obtained an index to naturalizations covering the relevant period
through my local FHC (microfilm # 1023966) and indeed found my
relative listed big as life, with a pointer to his naturalization
record in "book 11, page 35"; I was briefly happy, but then my
troubles began.

First of all, the index was clearly covering several different
series of records for the same period (apparently the Court
kept separate files for ordinary aliens, minors and military
veterans), and it was quite ambiguous which series "book 11"
was in. The index seemed to indicate that my relative was in the
"minor" records, but it was not very clear. So far, not too bad; I
figured I could just order films of all three series of records and
among them find the right one. But then the big disaster:

The microfiches at the FHC indicate no Circuit Court naturalization
records at all with book (or volume) number 11 in about 1906. The
only volume 11 listed is one of much earlier naturalizations (19th
century). So presumably the book I want was never filmed. (By the
way, by coincidence, there is a vol 11 for 1906 among the records of
another court, Superior Court, but it IS just a coincidence; I
looked.)

I am reluctant to send a blind request to the Circuit Court for a
lookup since I am not even able to say for sure which series of
records to look in. Is there a Cook Co maven out there who might
help?

My query in a nutshell: what Naturalization records in the Circuit
Court have a book (or volume) 11 which covers the year 1906?
And how can I get a copy of a specific record in that book?
