Dear Genners,

On http://data.jewishgen.org/ViewMate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=3093, I
have posted a Galician birth record. This entry is for the name of the
mother and her parents. On the first line, I can read, "Chana
Goldschach", on the second line can read "Menashe", and on the third
line "Ruchel Goldschach".

Would someone kindly take a look at the second handwritten line to see
what comes before "Menashe"? Several Genners have written to tell me they
think this is in German, not Polish.

a dayan (rabbinic judge) in the city, and he passed away in the late
1920s. I recently found out that he wrote a sefer (book) late in
his life (probably between 1915 and 1930), and I am trying to find
any information available about it. Unfortunately, I do not have
the name of the sefer. All I know is that his name was Yosef Meir
SZTARKMAN (STARKMAN/SHTARKMAN). (Sztarkman is spelled with a Hebrew
'Shin'.)

Any assistance (even just the name of the book) would be greatly
appreciated.
