ViewMate: Translation of Tombstone (from Hebrew) #general

Judith Lipmanson <lipmanson@...>

I'd appreciate any help on the translation of the back of the tombstone for an
aunt who died as a 9-yr old in 1917. The stone is very weathered and difficult to
discern. The following two pictures show a regular photo and the second, a
reverse-color image that may be easier to read.

http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=6356

http://data.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/viewmateview.asp?key=6357

I am particularly interested in the names shown for the child and her parents --
and of course anything else on the stone, since her father used different first
names throughout his lifetime.

Thanks in advance.

Judith Lipmanson

Viewmate: Russian to English Translation of Marriage Record #general

Here's a marriage record >from the Bilgoraj/Josefow area (not sure of the exact
town, Bemora??). The document gives maiden names and is very clear to read. I
could use help translating. Specifically, I'd like more information on the groom,
but enjoy receiving any assistance.

Thank you in advance:

Seeking Professional/Independant Researcher, Argentinian Records #general

sacredsisters3@aol.com <sacredsisters3@...>

Hello To All:

I am seeking someone who can help me get records >from argentina. I really have no
clue as to what channels I have to go through to get the information I am looking
for. I am trying to trace the migration of My grandfathers family, and hopefully
find some living decendants. I have two dates of burial for two possible siblings
of my grandfather and have no Idea how to obtain those records. If there is
someone who is based in argentina or knows what channels to go through that can
help me in my search, that would be greatly appreciated.

Money does not grow on trees, so if you get paid your fees by the hour I can't
afford you. I am glad to pay said costs for records if they are found. So, if this
is your passion or hobby and are willing to help me please e-mail me and I will be
glad to tell you what I am looking for.

Seeking: ROTHSCHILD/ROTSZYLD from Nowogrod #general

Alvin Saile

I know very little about my father's family and would like to find relatives.
His name was Nissen (Nathan) Yankel ROTHSCHILD, born in 1892 in Nowogrod as
stated on his birth certificate. His father was Wolf Baer (Berek) born about
1859 and died in 1892. It is possible my ggfather was Notek Mejierowicz
Rothschild. which I found in JRI-Poland with the name spelled ROTSZYLD.

My father went to live in Kolno as a child before coming to the US.
The records >from Kolno were destroyed by fire. His mother was Eni Liba
KOLINSKY >from Kovno. There seems to be no records that I can find and
no living relatives to ask. And would greatly appreciate any help.

Seeking: AMADU, Belgium #general

Sam Wolff <baalh@...>

I am trying to track down Robert AMADU (possibly AMADO), who was born in
Brussells, Belgium on April 22, 1913. Does anybody have experience in working with
this country? I have no idea if he is still alive or not- I met him once in the
early 1970's. An on-line search of the Belgium telephone book came up negative. If
anybody can locate him or his tomb, his wife and/or his children (if he had any),
or suggest to me how to do it, I would be grateful. I am seeking your basic
genealogical info: names and dates of parents, spouse, children. I believe his
father was Avram AMADU, born in Craiova, Romania, but this needs to be confirmed.
With thanks,

Seeking: HARRISON #general

Angela Steele <angela.steele@...>

Dear Sirs

I am trying to trace my grandmother's father. My grandmother lived in
Walthamstow, East London and was born in 1888. Her birth certificate shows her
father as William Henry HARRISON, Woollen Traveller. Her mother Edith Mary
Harrison later described herself as a widow. There is no record at the Public
Records Office of their marriage and they may not have been married but I do
believe there is a chance that he was jewish. Are there any jewish records that I
can search that might prove a marriage or even the existence of William Henry
Harrison in Walthamstow at that time. I would be grateful for any advice you
might give me.

Yours sincerely

Chinye vs Schachna #general

Paul NMN B

On a 1905 passenger manifest,Chinye AGATER entered Ellis Island and was
subsequently deported for the Hernia he had. The manifest is very clearly written
and there can be no mistake as to the name. The name Chinye never appears in the
family again.

On other data collected >from Polish archives, the name Schachna appears a number
of times through out the generations.

Has anyone ever heard of the name Chinye? Could it be a nickname for
Schachna?

Thanks
