Family HEUMANN in Aachen #germany

Corinna Broeckmann <corinna.broeckmann@...>

Greetings!
I am looking for information on Oskar HEUMANN (born 17 Jan. in Aachen) and
his family. He seemed to have started to become an actor. >from August 1931
he lived in the Kaiserallee 68 (today Oppenhoffallee) in Aachen. He died in
Mauthausen on 5 December 1942.

Also in the Kaiserallee 68 lived Anna HEUMANN, nee Watolla (born 16 August
1904 in Aachen). How she was related to Oskar is unclear to me.
In addition, in Kaiserallee 68 lived Salomon Joh. HEUMANN (26. July 1868 in
Fuerth/Bavaria) with his wife Thessy HEUMANN, nee ROSENTHAL (born 28.10.1876
in Hochberg). They probably died in the 1930s or earlier while Salomon
left Germany for New York in 1939 and survived. Again it is unclear to me
whether and how they might have been related to Oskar.

Does anyone know more? Regards,

Corinna Broeckmann, Aachen, Germany corinna.broeckmann@...

AH Family of Haguenau / Rabbi Sanvill of Offenbach #germany

Ralph Baer

Let me first ask the main question and then give some background. Does
anyone know anything about a Rabbi Sanvill (his given name) in the 18th
century in Offenbach am Main (across the Main >from Frankfurt)?

There were three families that adopted the family name AH in 1808 in
Haguenau (Bas-Rhin). One was headed by Seligmann-Loeb Abraham (11 July 1770
Fuerth - 21 December 1843 Haguenau) who became Isaac AH. He was a son of
Aberle Wolf AUB of Fuerth near Nuernberg and is related to me. That is why I
am interested in this. He married Elle Seligmann (Adelaide BLOCH) of
Niedernai (Bas-Rhin) on 26 October 1796 in Haguenau.

The other two were headed by a father Abraham Samuel becoming Abraham AH
(about 1734 - 26 October 1808 Haguenau) and his son Samuel Abraham becoming
Samuel AH (about 1769 Haguenau - 28 July 1834 Haguenau).

Some Haguenau records describe members of Seligmann's and Samuel's families
as being "cousins". Thus they probably were related. Even without that, I
would have expected a relationship based upon the rareness of the name AH.

Abraham Samuel's marriage is listed on page 75 of Fraenckel's book of 18th
century Alsatian marriage records as occurring in 1767. It shows "Abraham
(Aberle) fils de feu le rabbin Sanvill natif de Offenbach" marrying in
Niederbronn (Bas-Rhin) to "Keyle BLOCH fille du lettre Joseph fils de
Simon". The name and home town of Keyle agree with data >from many other
records, so I am sure that this is the correct marriage record.

I am most interested in determining additional information about Rabbi
Sanvill, for example his father's name and place of birth, in order to
establish a relationship between the AH families. Due to naming patterns, I
have an idea what it is, but I don't want to bias others. I am also
interested in connections to the AH families of Haguenau.

Jewish "Old age" home at Gormannstrasse 3, Berlin #germany

Judith Elam

I am researching Henriette IGLICK, (maiden name SCHWARZ), born 18 May 1850
in Kosten (Koscian), died 6 March 1940 at Gormannstrasse 3, Berlin. Her
burial records at Weissensee cemetery state the cause of death as "old
age". However, I understand that Gormannstrasse 3 was in fact no Jewish
"old age" home, but in fact a collection center where the victims would then
be deported. This makes sense, as the previous year Henriette's address was
Weberstrasse 28. I am trying to find out who Henriette's parents are, and
neither the Weissensee records nor the Kosten LDS film or databases were of
any help in this regard. Her burial records do not list the parents' names.

I am also wondering if euthanasia was practiced at Gormannstrasse 3, and
whether in fact this was the real cause of Henriette's death.

Re: Litomerice Records Online

Has anyone been able to find a systematic filing method for the 1921
census records of Litomerice? There are several volumes, each with
hundreds of images, but each seems to have names listed at random.
Presumably they are arranged by address, but in the absence of that
information the records seem to be unusable.

Dear All,
A friend of mine is trying to find info about his wife's grandfather named
GROSZ Laszlo, >from the Nagy Alfoeld village Bucsa.
"After the second World War, and after his return >from forced labor in the
Ukraine (his mother and father survived Auschwitz), he was rejected by his

the father of my wife. Mister Grosz left the region, not after he had
insisted that he wanted to recognize his son. In vain, for the Balogh family

Belgium or the USA. It is still a mystery where he continued his life.
This Laszlo Grosz was the steward at the estate of Eugene Fould-Springer (son of
Therese Ephrussi), for the Fould-Springer family owned estates in Bucsa and
the nearby village of Szerep (Nagy Alfoeld) and in (Hungarian) Slovakia".
Does any body has some info about this man?
