Dear All

Does anybody know if there is a database of people who attended the Asile de Nuit
in Paris - I think it may have been similar to The Poor Jews Temporary Shelter in
London. I have also posted to the French SIG.

As I was searching through a census page once, I saw surnames and given names that
weren't recognizable. I realized that the cursive capital S was really an L. And the
S was written as I would print it. This was brought home recently when I was looking
for a Levi, and could only find a Sevi. And Sevi is rare compared to Levi.

Hello Fellow Jewishgenners
I am helping someone with their research in which the family SEIDEL (ZAJDEL)came
from Kalisz, Poland. I found many references to the Kalisz Jewish Cemetery and one
gave a link that does not work. It comes up with a warning and that it cannot be
opened.

If anybody has a website address for the Kalisz Jewish Cemetery I would greatly
appreciate the link.

Just wanted to share that I followed up my first message to Joyce with a reminder
that JewishGen has several databases as resources - both the Family Finder and the
Family Tree of the Jewish People [FTJP].

In FTJP there were several entries. I would assume with the Family Finder she
might a few fellow HYAMS detectives.

I am looking for information and connections to living descendants of David TAUSICK
and Sophie KIND TAUSICK. I have already gone through Ancestry and the Italian
Genealogy site that has indexed much of New York City and therefore have collected
information >from censuses (1870, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930).

What I know is the following:
Sophie KIND originally immigrated in the 1860s >from Bohemia and went to
Philadelphia to live with her brother Sam KIND and his wife Fannie PFAELZER. She
married David TAUSICK, also >from Bohemia, in 1873 in New York and had four
children: Rudolph T. (b. 1876); Theresa (b. 1878); Walter P. (b. 1880); and
Blanche (b. 1882 or 1883).

I have not been able to track down a marriage or a death for Rudolph. Theresa
never married. Walter married Rebecca SILBERMAN in 1910 and they had one child,
Blanche (b. 1911). Their daughter Blanche married Philip J. JACOBY in 1933.

Blanche, the daughter of David and Sophie, married Joseph TURKAS in 1906 and they
had two children, Dorothy (b. 1908) and Walter (b. 1912).

Any additional information on these families and their descendants would be greatly
appreciated.

family (descendants of the MaHaRSHa"L).

from the best of my knowledge the two families intertwined several times. I would
like to know at what point/generation did the two families intermarry with one
another and who was the first KLAUSNER descendants of the MaHaRSHa"L. Was it
through Sprintze daughter of Naftali KATZ (the "Smichas Chachomim).

Also, does anyone know of a ROSENBAUM family descendants of these two families? One
well known Rabbinical figure in our family believes that one of Sprintz's female
descendents, daughter of Rabbis of Kremenetz married a ROSENBAUM >from whom we are
descendant.
