Viewmate - Russian [breakthrough on GGM ROZENSZTEJN] #general

Marty Meyers <martymeyers@...>

For the first time, I have a breakthrough on the family of my GGM
Chaia Sura (nee ROZENSZTEJN) ZYLBERMAN who died in 1906 in Przasnysz,
Poland. I've been collecting all the ROZENSZTEJN information in the
area for years and now I have a subset to follow in detail based on
Chaia Sura's father being Aron.

My vaccuum cleaner approach has found an Aron and Malka whose daughter
Hana Enta was living in Raciaz but was born in Janowa where my GGM
came from, an Aron and Sura Ryfka (nee KRAM) in Dobrin and another
Aron and 'unknown' living in Przasnysz who had a son (born in Janowa)
Iciek Majer who married Ruchl OBLUDZINER in 1895 in Przasnysz. I am
also in touch with the children of two ROZENSZTEJN holocaust
survivors/cousins whose ancestor (per a gravestone in London) included
a "David ben Aharon" who was born in Janowa.

I've posted two vital records in Russian for which I need a
translation. It is on ViewMate at the following address

TEJTELBAUM, ROZENSZTEJN in Raciaz #general

Marty Meyers <martymeyers@...>

I'm looking for any information on the family of Szmul Lejb TEJTELBAUM
and his wife Hana Enta (nee ROZENSZTEJN) who lived in Raciaz in
Poland.

According to the Raciaz book of residents, Szmul Lejb's parents were
Abram and Heweta; Hana Enta's parents were Aron and Malka. Hana Enta
was born in Janowa, as were Szmul Lejb and their children (per Raciaz
book of residents) Szosja, Frimeta Ryfka, Mendel, Tauba, Abram Enoch,
Pinkus, Henweta, Gitla Zisia, Sura and Ruchel (all born between 1862
and 1885).

I've just learned this week that my GGM Chai Sura (nee ROZENSZTEJN)
ZYLBERMAN, who was born in Janowa, died in 1906 in Przasnysz and that
her parents appear to be Aron and Malka on the death certificate (to
be confirmed on viewmate), so this is the first time I've broken
through the wall on my GGM's side.

A long awaited breakthrough, and special thanks to Stanley Diamond and
JRI-Poland for their fantastic agreement with the PSA and the direct
links to images of records in the Polish Archives. Simply fantastic
to be able to see an indexed record that might be of interest and see
it in minutes.

BEHR, BEER, BAER #germany

Leonard Kranser <kranser@...>

Based on my grandfather's records, my great grandfather Adolph BEHR was born
in Germany sometime between 1830 and 1860 and died there sometime prior to
1922. There is an Adolph BEER listed in the JewishGen Online Worldwide
Burial Registry who fits these dates and is buried in Weissensee/Berlin
cemetery but I have no further information to confirm whether or not this is
the right person.

My great grandfather married Fredericka SHICKLER who died sometime after
1922. They had a son Hermann who served in the Magdeburg Corp. That is all
that I know about them. Anyone have any clues?

Re: Info-Question about a Dutch connection with GerSig #germany

Roger Lustig

Harry:
There's no Dutch SIG as such.

If you're looking for Sephardic connections, then I'm sure that
Sephardic SIG will have many people with interests matching yours.

Otherwise, it's off to the Family Finder. Over 1000 Amsterdam
researchers, 170+ each for Rotterdam & The Hague, 80 for Groningen, etc.
Perhaps you can find the right group of enthusiastic researchers who
will found the SIG you're asking about.

[The JewishGen Family Finder aka JGFF start page is at:
http://www.jewishgen.org/jgff/ ]

In the meantime, if you have some good basic information about research
in the Netherlands, or some lists of places, institutions or anything
else, consider contributing to the InfoFiles. At the moment there are
only 2 Dutch items: an essay on Holland-America Line passenger lists and
a link to the Netherlands Jewish Genealogical Society.

Most things on JewishGen begin with a member or two thinking that it's a
good idea...
