GOLDSTEIN from Przasnysz - ViewMate in Russian #general

Marty Meyers <martymeyers@...>

I would appreciate help translating the following 3 images >from Russian.
Both in involve marriages of an Jellia Szaia GOLDSTEIN.

In 1907, a Jellia Szaja married my great-grandmother's youngest sister
Golda ZYLBERMAN. They had a daughter Ryfka in 1910.
In 1911, a Jellia Szaja married Dwora Rogal.
Lastly, in 1908, an Ellia Szia was born.

I am trying to untangle the story of my great-grandmother's sister,
who I am told died in the Shoa, and would like to know how the
GOLDSTEIN family is related and how many different Jellia Szaja there
were in Przasnysz. Was there a divorce and Jellia Szaja GOLDSTEIN
re-married or were there multiple people with that name in Przasnysz?

The viewmate links are

http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM45589
http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM45590

I would like a translation of all names, ages, parents as well as any
indication of prior divorce or widower-hood.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'd like to thank so many gersig members for your replies to my query. I am
meeting my friend Monica Rock next week to fill her in with everything I
have found so far about her grandmother. This is my first excursion into
German Jewish genealogy as I am >from Prag and have been mostly working in
Czech Austrian and Hungarian and Slovakian areas.

Answer : Fast deteriorating memorial to Holocaust Victim, Weissensee Cemetery, Berlin #germany

Jewish congregations maintain their own cemeteries, including the graves.
You should report the bad condition of Jenny LEVY's memorial to the
Juedische Gemeinde Berlin, at Oranienburger Str.

Alfred died on 11 May, 1936. He was buried in Weissensee Cemetery -

I am not aware that he and Jenny had children. A few months ago a
friend visited Alfred's grave for me; the headstone is not of very
good quality and fast deteriorating. My friend was able to decipher
the following inscription: "Dem Andenken unserer geliebten Mutter
Jenny Levy verw. Fabian geb. Weiss. Geb 23.2.1880. Ermordet
8.12.1944". Perhaps Jenny had children >from her first marriage, when
she was called Jenny PINKUS.
I contacted the office at Weissensee about this, they were only able
to tell me that this headstone was laid in 1947.
The inscription on the headstone is disappearing fast. I would like to
contact the descendants of Jenny Levy to see if, at some point in the
future, we might arrange to share the costs of maintaining this
memorial to a Holocaust victim.
If anyone is able help me, I would love to hear >from you.

[Need help finding] German immigrants in Brazil #germany

Amy B Cohen

I am hoping someone can help me locate a cousin who immigrated to Brazil
from Germany in the 1930s. She was born on February 27, 1889, as
Johanna HEYMANN, in Geldern, daughter of Willy HEYMANN and Rosalie
SCHOENTHAL. She was married to Hermann MOSBACH, who was from
Hohenlimburg and who died in 1931 in Ratingen, Germany, where the
family was living.

I have located immigration cards for Johanna dated 1939 in the FamilySearch
database of Brazilian immigration cards, one listing her as Joana MOSBACH
ROTHSCHILD, so she seems to have remarried at some point.

There was also an Else MOSBACH living in Ratingen who also immigrated
to Brazil in the 1930s. She appears to have been a daughter of
Hermann MOSBACH and his first wife. I cannot find her at all on
any database except for this website about the Jewish community of Ratingen:

http://www.archive.nrw.de/kommunalarchive/kommunalarchive_q-t/r/Ratingen/StadtgeschichtlicheInformationen/JuedischeEinwohner/

Shortened URL - http://goo.gl/kLPdXk

But I cannot find any resource to learn what happened to Johanna after
sheimmigrated (or Else). I know that she was still alive and living
in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1966 because she is listed as a survivor
in her brother Lionel's obituary (he lived in the US).

Does anyone know if there are any sources or records available
>from Brazil that might help me learn what happened to Johanna and to Else?

Thank you, Amy Cohen, East Longmeadow, MA, USA amybesscohen@gmail.com

Might anyone advise if a marriage record (hopefully with the marriage

INTRO, seeking info on 18th century PERLE family #germany

David W. Perle

Greetings, all. I've posted previously on some other JewishGen lists,
but I've only just joined GerSyg and this is the very beginning of my foray
into German research.

I know my PERLE line going back to 19th century Kalisz, Poland, but my
great-great-great-grandfather David/Dawid PERLE immigrated there (to fill a
rabbinical role, apparently only an assistant rabbi his decades there)
from...'somewhere' in Germany.

He seems to have been born in Germany around 1794 and moved to Kalisz
around 1817.

That's pretty much all that I know about his German roots. (Presuming
that a cousin is correct in telling me that this common ancestor of ours
indeed was originally >from Germany!)

Are there any resources where I might be able to find a David/Dawid PERLE
born in Germany around 1794? (And then hopefully his parents' names and so
on.)

What I already have for him:

- I have the rabbi's 1867 death certificate already (confirming that he was
some sort of clergy)
- One of his kids' (my g-g-gf) birth records which was translated as
identifying him as a "lower rabbi"
- A Google search actually pulled up another Viewmate translation of a
wedding that he was a stand-in rabbi officiating over.

Thank you! David Perle, Washington, DC
