researching HERSTATT/HERSTADT or other variants #germany

Edith Goldman <phal4gal@...>

Dear GerSigers,

A contact in Germany sent me a death certificate for Carl HERSTATT
(dod 19 July, 1898) who was married to Johanna Herrstat (dod 6 March,
1912). He also sent me records pertaining to Elise HERSTATT (dod 19
Feb., 1897) and Hermann HERSTATT (dod 6 Feb., 1898). Some or all of
them may be related to my grandmother Else (Elsa) HERSTADT but I don't
know how. Else was born in Cologne and the graves are in the Deutz
cemetery.

Can anyone please help me clarify the relationships between these
people and any other available info? Thank you in advance.

Edith Goldman, Laurel, MD

Re: Trying to help Prisoner prove Jewish roots for religious rights #germany

Jax Gold <jaxdegold@gmail.com> asked for help proving the Jewish roots
of the prisoner with which her partner corresponds.

I did some research on the family and per the moderator's request, I
wrote to Jax privately. If anyone else plans to look into the
BERGER-CERF roots, I'd be happy to share the message.

1850 Cadastral Map of Baranow Sandomierski in the Gesher Galicia Map Room #galicia

Jay Osborn <jay.osborn@...>

New on the Gesher Galicia Map Room: the beautiful 1850 cadastral map
of Baranow Sandomierski:
http://maps.geshergalicia.org/cadastral/baranow-1850/

Earlier this year, Gesher Galicia member and expert researcher Russ
Maurer spotted an 1850 landowner register for this town on the website
of the Polish State Archives in Przemysl:
http://www.skany.przemysl.ap.gov.pl/show.php?zesp=126&cd=0&ser=19&syg=4

He indexed those records for everyone to use, and in April that data
became part of Gesher Galicia's All Galicia Database:
http://search.geshergalicia.org/

Also in April, Gesher Galicia members donated funds to support the
acquisition and stitching of a cadastral map for Baranow, >from original
paper map sheets also housed at the Przemysl state archive. This map
directly relates to the landowner records already acquired... and now
that map is available online! A big THANK YOU to our supporters and
volunteers, who made this wonderful data set available for everyone
to use!

Hello Yefim and hello all,

I attended every event that Yefim organized at the
Seattle conference and I am still amazed at the
huge amount of material, resources and proposed projects,
as well as the very dedicated team that Yefim has organized
in the short five years since he started the BukovinaSIG.
And every BessarabiaSIG segment of the day was excellent,
each offering a different aspect of research, discovery
and history.

His and his teams' dedication is extraordinary, as are the
fruits of their work.

A huge thank you to Yefim and to all his volunteers who
work so diligently to make these resources available to
those of us researching Bessarabia!

Shana Tovah to all,

Dear researchers,

How are you all doing?

This message I want to send to all our members who came to Seattle and as I
know enjoyed the conference events.

Though I asked couple of times of you to share your experience with the
whole group, and so far did not get any responses yet............

All the best,
