Schlesinger Trutnov #austria-czech

Dear SIG,

Cyril Bielschowsky wrote in about the Schlesingers in Trautenau/Trutnov.

In the 1938/39 Telephone Directory for Bohemia, I find a Jos. Schlesinger, "Handelsagentur"
(=trade agency), at Beethovenova 31. He may or may not be a relative/descendant of the
Schlesingers Cyril mentioned. I don't know.

Today, Beethovenova is called "Narodni." It lies in the district called "Stredni Predmesti"
(=Central Suburb), which according to the trautna.de website was called "Widmuth" in
German.

Looking at Narodni Street on Google Maps, there appears to be a building that should have
the number 31. Number 29 is there, but on the neighboring building, which should be 31,
there is only the numerus conscriptionis 219. If you want to see it, go to Google Maps and
search for Trutnov, Narodni 219.

Shalom >from Prague,

Rick Pinard

Does anyone know how to suppress or at least close the new giant
rectangle which appears when you look at ledger pages at badatelna.eu?

I am using Chrome, and the arrow that looks like it is supposed to
close the giant rectangle doesn't work.

Thank you.

I'd like to thank the SIGGERS who have taken the trouble to decipher the
birth record for Jacob POLLAK an ancestor of mine whose birth is recorded in
Morina ( Gross Morzin) in 1819. Thanks to you all for your translations from
the gothic German script.
I'm sorry for mixing up this record with that for my great grandfather who
had the same name but was born 1861 in Bestin in the same District as his
uncle Jacob. Nevertheless I'm grateful for the new information in these
translations.

Families COREN, GOLDSTEIN and WEINTHROP/WINTHROP/WEINTROP in London #general

Daniel Gleek

Dear Genners,

Do you have people on your tree called COREN and/or WEINTHROP? I am interested any
that settled in London in about 1890 and have found the families are linked
numerous times. The GOLDSTEIN family also connects to that branch.

The father of the main family was Hyman (Chaim) WEINTHROP,who married Sivia
GOLDSTEIN and then Fanny WEINTHROP. Chaim and Fanny both lived >from 1850-1930
approx and they both came >from Plonsk/Plinsk/Plock/Plotz in Poland.

To compare information, please get in touch!
Thanks,

Seeking late 1800s-early 1900s vital records from Ukraine Podolia region towns #general

Holman <vcrfromslauson@...>

Hello,

Most of my ancestors were born in the Podolia towns Kamianets-Podilskyi, Nova
Ushytsya, Mynkivtsi and Vinkivtsi, and left Ukraine for North America between
1915-1924. I am wanting to track down late 1800s-early 1900s for these towns to
see if my ancestors are mentioned. It does not appear there are any on JewishGen,
does anyone know if they exist anywhere online? I read about the 2004 in
the Kamianets-Podilskyi archives, which has me concerned that what I
seek may no longer exist at all.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, Thanks!
