I am a looking for a birth certificate of Josef vel Josif KANDEL, born
1914 in Kossow Poleski (today - Kosava in Belarus)
He was the son of Abram Jankiel and Cywia KANDEL maiden name Rawicz.

I understand >from the inquiries made with the Jewish Historical Institute
in Warsaw that the civil records >from Kossow Poleski are probably in
Belarus (and not in Poland).
I wanted to ask:

Long-time JRI-Poland supporters are aware that when they make
a Qualifying Contribution to a town indexing/extracting project,
they sign a Database Sharing Agreement before receiving a file
of record information. (This is part of JRI-Poland's protocol
to enable our contributors to receive information with their
family record even before the town project is fully funded and
made publicly searchable in the online JRI-Poland database.)

While we initially exchanged agreements with Qualified Contributors
by snail mail and more recently by email using PDF attachments,
we have now instituted the ultimate electronic system for signing
agreements.

Starting immediately, agreements will be handled through Docusign,
the most widely used electronic signature system.

The JRI-Poland Docusign system was implemented by our new Database
Sharing Agreement Coordinator, Sherry Hines who has taken over >from
long-time volunteer Roni Liebowitz. I would like to take this
opportunity to thank Roni for many years of dedicated attention
to this important role in serving the JRI-Poland research community.

And of course, Yasher Koach to Sherry for implementing a system that

I have been searching for traces of the following SOCHACZEWSKI family,
apparently >from Lodz, for nearly a decade, making a single
breakthrough through a Yad Vashem testimonial page match.

I could never trace and likelihood of individuals with same surname
living in the same Lodz Ghetto address being related

The data I have on my great grandmother, Rivka Miriam Sochaczweski z'l
family is:

Parents: Aharon Yechezkel (Aron Chaskel) and Leah nee SKROBEK

Children:
Henoch
Rivka Miriam (my great grandmother)
Avraham Pessach (Abram Pejsach)
Hendel
Sara Beila (Sura Bajla)

Years ago I came across Henoch's family traces in Yad Vashem, as
having been murdered in the Holocaust (not all of them, it seems).

Sender married Beila LANGNAS, daughter of Lejb and Sara Miriam (maiden
name something like FROTMANSDORF).

Minutes ago I have just found, at jewishgen, that Henoch's Lodz Ghetto
address was "Wald 3 14".
Making a new search with "Data Field" set to "Wald 3 14", returns a
Nicha SOCHACZEWSKI, born on 4-Apr-1876. Statistically, is it not true
that almost always individuals with the same family name, living under
the very same address in the ghetto, were related ? In other words,
this Nicha Sochaczewski must be a new lead, but unfortunately a
preliminary search did not reveal any concrete results yet.

I recently found that some of my Goodstein ancestors claim Warsaw as
their place of birth. My question is which may be faster to get
information preferably before the convention? Do I write to the
archives and if so, based on those who have written, about how long
did it take to get a reply and how did you pay? I understand there
are researchers in Warsaw whom have been recommended and probably more
expensive, but are they faster to get the information? And on that
same line, any recommendations?
