Seeking Information on Anna KATZ - Brooklyn, NY - Thank you all! #galicia

Joyce Eastman

I wanted to thank everyone who responded to my original e-mail seeking
information about Anna Katz, who was noted on my uncle's request for
immigration in Vienna, Austria in 1938 as his "aunt" living in Brooklyn, NY
- previously unknown to any of us in our WILDER family. It now appears
from information received >from the many people who replied to my
inquiry, that Anna Katz (born Honig recte Wilder) is in fact the sister of
my paternal grandfather, Salomon Wolf Wilder. I am in the process of
gathering more documentation >from IKG-Wien regarding Anna Katz as
well as her daughter Hesie, who both resided in Vienna, Austria prior to
their departure for the US in 1920. IKG-Wien has been an invaluable
resource in the past to find out more about my paternal grandparents
and their family by providing documentation not only of their existence,
but also about the fate they met during the Holocaust.

Many thanks to all of you for your diligence and the information you
provided, and a special thanks to Barbara Zimmer for the extensive
information she provided to me that will definitely assist me with my
inquiry to IKG-Wien.

These digests are an invaluable resource, and the people who read them
are a great help in finding information that you might never have found
on your own.

Searching: CHOROSUCH from Lomza #general

Dick Plotz <rplotz@...>

I am posting this for George Fogelson, who is temporarily unable to
send plain text mail. Please send any responses intended for George to
me, and I will forward them to him.

Dick Plotz

^^^
In the 1897 Lomza census listed on JRI-Poland Liba and Juszk CHOROSUCH
are listed with their four children: Chajka, Perla, Icek, and Abram.

I would like suggestions on how to find information on what happened
to three of the children Liba and Joseph CHOROSUCH, whether they
married, immigrated to the US, or had children:

Pearl (Perla) CHOROSUCH born 1890 (date an approximate >from the 1897 census)

Isaac (Icek) CHOROSUCH born 1894 (date an approximate >from the 1897 census)

Abraham *Abram) CHOROSUCH 1896 (date an approximate >from the 1897 census)

I am also trying to find information about a child born after the 1897
Lomza census:

David CHOROSUCH

Any suggestions on how to proceed or any information you can locate
would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everybody,

I want to thank JewishGen for recognizing JewishGen Bessarabia SIG work, and
thank everyone who congratulate me with Volunteer of the Year award.  It is
an honor to lead such group of dedicated people.  It is clear that without
you, hundreds and hundreds of volunteers, alone I could not do anything.
Thank you all!

As I promised at the conference, right after traveling Warsaw, Krakow, and
Budapest and back home,  I have posted at the Bessarabia SIG website all
slides used at the presentations in Warsaw.

You can get to it >from Bessarabia SIG website or directly at
https://www.jewishgen.org/bessarabia/PTM_Article.asp?id=196

Please let me know if you have any questions, or possible some links are not
working?

I also will post photos >from the conference, but first, I want to ask other
participants, please share your photos with the group? I am going to post
them shortly.

All the best,

I would like to congratulate Gabor Hirsch on publishing his memoir in E=
nglish, for us to read and learn from. The ranks of those who remember pre-=
destruction Jewish communities in Hungary are growing smaller by the year, =
and the number who are also up to date in communicating by email and making=
information available online is even smaller.
I cannot count the number of times he has helped people in this forum by =
his real-life knowledge of how communities ran, and similar matters of cond=
uct and lifestyle among Hungarian Jews back =C3=A2??at home,=C3=A2?? so tha=
nk you and may we enjoy your input on Hungarian Jewish genealogy till 120.
