I have posted two separate vital records on ViewMate written in what I
understand is Cyrillic. I would be most grateful for translations for
both records and particularly with regard to personal information on
those people to which each refers, and also with regard to any house
number mentioned.

They can be found on ViewMate at the following addresses:

I seek your assistance to find possible Rabbis in my family tree #rabbinic

John Lowin <hans-@...>

Some time ago I received information that my two times great
grandfather Maier LOWIN, O umlaut, ORDEWER, born 1853 in Radziechow,
district of Ternopol, Austria-Hungary was one of twelve, all of whom
supposedly became Rabbis, except him. Maier LOWIN ORDEWER's parents
were, Lewi LOWIN, O umlaut and Taube/Paige ORDEWER, 1818-1911.

I am unable to find any information on his eleven brothers/siblings
or if they even existed and would be most appreciative of any
assistance I may be fortunate enough to receive.

Best Regards,
John Jacob Lowin

On May 17-22, 2019, a group of descendants of the Jews of Gombin and Gostynin will
visit the two towns and the Chelmno Extermination camp in order to commemorate the
anniversary of the liquidation of the ghettos and the deportation and murder of the
Jews in 1942. The visit will include tours of Gombin and Gostynin, meetings with
municipal authorities and local civil society organizations, and memorial
ceremonies in both towns and at the Chelmno camp. In between these events, there
will be other activities, including a visit to the Museum of Mazovian Jews in the
restored Grand Synagogue of Plock.
The trip is being organized by the Gombin Jewish Historical and Genealogical
Society (http://www.gombinsociety.org). There are 26 confirmed participants

DANNENBERG descendants #general

Mark Michaels

I am looking to find the birth place of an Adolph Dannenberg I have a
photograph of Adolph with wife and two children.

All the information below is deduced >from census records but appear to
be for the correct Adolph Dannenberg.

b. 1868c who arrived in USA 1885 and was naturalised. Lived in Chicago, Cook; with
wife variously Amelia, Emilia and Emily. 2 children Milton b. 1898c and Sadie
b. 1896c.

Milton married either Bertha and had a son Robert or married Hazel and
had a son Jack b. 1929.

Sadie married Louis or Lewis Kahn and had a daughter Jean A Kahn.

My wife is descended >from Barnett Dannenberg in UK but we do not know
their place of origin: census entries give variously Russia, Poland
and Germany. UK family legend says Riga however that could well mean via Riga.
